    1750pt Armored Company List

A fairly standard AC list with some inducted stormtroopers to use as cover for the inevitable deepstriking melta-gunning loons who might try to take out my artillery line. I have ace gunners on the bassies to make them super-accurate, while my front line (3 russes and 2 exterminators heads up the unit. The sentinels are there to snipe at enemy armor and transports. Because I will be playing Eldar for the next 2-3 years it seems, and therefore will be facing brightlances by the buckful, I choose machine gods blessing to raise the inevitable charge of cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeese.

Not a bad list! One thing I don't get at all is the two squads of Inducted Stormtroopers. Why?

Stormies are there to protect my elite artillery line from deepstriking nutters with plasma and melta doom - basically. I could have gone for an AF squad with lascannon, plasma and a set position at the rear, but an AF squad is simply unsuited for an escort role in the rear - you need to be able to fire decent AP 1/2 wpns on the move, so 2 stormie squads totalling 4 plasma guins should do the trick. Also, an AF squad would take uop a fast attack slot, which I really want for a sentinel.

So is everyone in agreement that the list above is illegal? That the bassies should have machine god's blessing because they are "tanks"? (Even though they are SP Artillery pieces).

Ace Gunners won't work with Indirect Fire, so you can just swap that out if you want Machine God's Blessing.

It's an okay list. The weakpoints are with the Sentinels, which will get shot at repeatedly. Also, I thought that you couldn't use Inducted Stormtroopers (I'm assuming from DH or WH) if you were IG. Could be wrong on that though.

Ace gunners does work with indirect fire - you reroll scatter dice (not the distance of scatter though). I've amended this list to take out 2 sentinels and the stormies, (even though it is legal for a IG list to receivce DH allies) and replaced them with another Leman and an inquisitor with psychic hood (to offset Eldar powers), emperors tarot (because I really want the first turn), 2 plasma gunner warriors, a mystic (so I can shoot first the inevitable deep striking loons wanting to take out my artillery) and a hierophant to up my inquistor's LD.

The rules I have from the US GW site says that the scatter dice is rerolled with Ordnance weaponry that are fired directly.

And yes I'm aware that it's legal for IG to use DH allies, but I recall a rule that it can't be from their own army. I'm fuzzy on this but the DH guys on this board have been quite helpful in their FAQ.

"When using allied DH or WH, you may not also use the DH or WH rules for inducting IG or SM units. What this means is that your allied contingent may only include some combination of DH & WH units, and may never include further SM or IG. This prevents lists from ever using IG and SM together!"

Interesting. The list from the GW UK site simply says that ordance dice are rerolled - nothing about direct or indirect.
