I was planning on buying 2 squads of 10 sisters to add to my Grey Knight force and replace one of the IST units I currently use. The Girls get faith, a 3+ save and a St 4 weapon for 1 point more than ISTs (+14 for the veteran sister). But then I looked at the list and thought an exorcist is far better than a GK dread with TL-LC and ML for a simmilar points cost. Below is a sisters of battle army which is mostly grey knights
Blessed weapon, Bolt Pistol, Book of St. Lucius 61
9 Sisters, Melta, Storm bolter, + veteran sister 139
9 Sisters, Melta, flamer, + veteran sister 140
8 Grey Knights + Justicar 250
8 Grey Knights + Justicar 250
8 Grey Knights + Justicar meltabomb 255
Total 1500 points with 4 faith.
Well, I don't think three exorcists is "cheesy". Nothing is, provided it's legal. By taking three exorcists, he's hobbled his list in other, easily exploitable ways. That's the nature of min-maxing.
On that subject, I think it's a shame to run a SoB army without mounting your sisters. They really work best as a mechanized force, where you can get your bolters into rapid-fire range ASAP and then let loose with some Divinely Guided holy bolter fire. Devastating!
That is, I'd let your footslogging GKs take care of the initial softening, get your mounted sisters into close range of the enemy, wipe them out with some faith and shooting, and then drive them elsewhere. The GKs could wipe up any stragglers, just keep your sisters moving all the time. Embark, drive, disembark, shoot, repeat until the game ends with you a winner. Your sisters shouldn't ever have to see close combat, and your GKs should end the game at virtually full strength.
That's the way I'd run a combined SoB/GK force, anyway. I think it would take maximum advantage of each army's strengths.
To get there from where you're at, I'd drop an exorcist (two is usually plenty) and mount the SoB squads in Rhinos. For special weapons, I'd stick with flamers and heavy flamers only, then you also have the option of drive-by flame bombs, too. Let the GKs take care of the bolter suppression fire while you get your sisters positioned for whatever attack you have in mind, let the GKs tail behind and clean up the mess after.
Also, be sure to give all your VSSs Books of St Lucius, too. That will ensure that your squads will remain virtually unbreakable.
You should have enough points left over to convert your cannoness into something much more powerful and effective: a "flying" cannoness. Give her, at the very least, a jump pack, inferno pistol, and eviscerator. If you can afford it, a Cloak of St Aspira, followed by a Mantle of Ophelia are highly recommended. This turns her into an independent operator, tank-hunter, MC and HQ assassin, that kind of thing. With enough faith, the flying cannoness is the single most powerful model in the game. No joke. You want her!
But you also want a bit more faith to really make the army shine. I would actually recommend dropping one of your PAGK squads in favor of Seraphim. Give them 2x flamers, or 2x inferno pistols, or even 1 flamer and 1 inferno pistol, doesn't matter, they're great however you want them. Take the VSS upgrade with an eviscerator, and you have the single most capable squad of infantry in the entire game of 40k because, again, with just a faith point or two, they can take on any target you need, and they're also great for countercharging and assault support. Hit-and-run is astoundingly effective to get these girls bouncing at incredible speed across the entire board, messing up target after target. In this way, you can make up for the loss of a 3rd exorcist if you're really worried about lots of heavy armour.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.
