    Here is my first attempt at IG. Any tips would be helpfully.

    K your HQ looks fine, one thing I would do is swap out the plasma pistol for a bolt pistol, plasma pistols are exspensive and could fry your LD source, not worth it and are best left to melta gun totting veterans gonig tank hunting. Maybe get another melta for your PHQ? Or swap them out for plasma?

    Take out the lascannons in your squads, start takeing missile launchers and plasma guns. you should really only face one armour unit in a game at this level.
    You should give the hellhound some extra armour.
    Your russ looks fine.

    Your list doesnt look that bad. but your armour units are dragging you down pts wise I think. In my opinion you need to loose either the russ or the hellhound, it would give you extra points for a squad or some other weapons. You need to start taking some special weapons along as well. If your worried about armour units just take some anti-armour squads with missile launchers.
    Other then that it looks good.

    a plasma pistol costs the same as a plasma gun, but a plasma gun is more useful, so in your hq, replace the plasma pistol on the officer with a plasma gun in the squad.

    The 3 lascannons should be all the anti tank you need at this level, so i would say switch the melta gun for something else.

    The purpose of an armoured fist squad is to be mobile, so dont take a heavy weapon here and do take a special weapon.

    If you can possible scare up 5 points, get extra armour on the hellhound.

    Aside from that, play it and find out.
