this is my first shot at a DH list, and this list is meant to be more of a list that will be fun, rather than a really competetive list.
HQ- Brother Captain- Sacred Incense, Holocaust
Retinue of 3 GKT 1 w/ psycannon
Elites: Inquisitor w/ Emperors Tarot
Troops: 7x IST's 2 w/ Plasma guns
7x IST's 2 w/ Melta guns , mounted in Chimera w/ Multilaser, Heavy Bolter,
extra armour and somke launchers.
Fast Attack: 7x PAGK 1 w/ incinerator
Heavy Support:GK Dreadnought w/ lascannon and missile launcher
Any advice would be appreciated, be critical.
tactically; unless you really want 4 GKT in as small a game as this, i'd reduce it to just a BC (maybe with psycannon). then with those points you can fill out those PAGK and IST squads.
Fun-wise; Evesors are always fun (i'd give the inquisitor a psycannon or somthing, nothing more funny than a heavy weapon your opponent can't shoot!). also if DSing the PAGK squad you could give them another incinerator - these can be lethal en masse.
other than that, not much i can do for you. good luck!
TAU PLAYER - GREY KNIGHTS PLAYER - WOOD ELVES PLAYER (kind of)
"Grey Knight terminators aren't 'good.' THEY'RE F****N AWESOME!!"
That said, it's a nice cheap squad (for GKTs) ... but you just shouldn't be taking holocaust. You could suffer Perils of the Warp, and then lose your very expensive GKTs.
In the end, you've got about a 7-man PAGK squad in points tied up in just the holocaust and GKT retinue. I'd rather have those GKs on hand, instead. Or possibly another dread. A rhino for your ISTs. A psycannon for your inquisitor....Your inquisitor is entirely useless. 35 pts of uselessness. In the DH, where everything is expensive, wasting points like this is not an option. If you want a cheap inquisitor that can actually do something (I figure you're taking him primarily for assassin access, but still), drop the ET and take a psycannon. An independent character sniper. Not a bad option. The ET only works about 1/3 of the time, anyway. Not worth the cost.Originally Posted by AltariNot too bad. Even numbers for these lame humans is always better than odd, if you can manage it. (I'd just transfer one IST from the meltas to the plasma squad.) Minor quibble: Rhinos, although cheaper, make somewhat better vehicles for the rush approach required of melta (suicicde) squads. Chimeras work out somewhat better in tandem with plasma squads. If you can afford it, I'd get that Rhino and move the Chimera to the other squad.Originally Posted by AltariI don't favor special weapons on GKs much at all. But, you've got only the one, and this is the right place for it, in a deep-striking GK squad. However, be aware that you are spending points to rob your GK of his +2S bonus, True Grit, and stormbolter. It's a risky bet that you'll make your points back this way, especially since you intend for this squad to see close combat, where that loss of power will definitely be noticed. Instead of a full-strength GK, you've got nothing but a wildly expensive bog-standard (S4/A1) space marine in his place.Originally Posted by AltariExtra armour is practically a necessity. Otherwise, lovely.Originally Posted by Altari
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.
