Boy, building small-points lists with the new Dark Angels book is hard. My friends and I are planning to play some Combat Patrol missions the next time we're together. This is what I'm thinking to bring:
Scout Squad (5 Scouts)--80pts.
Tactical Squad (5 Marines w/ Razorback, Power weapon, Meltagun)--165pts.
Assault Squad (5 Marines, Power weapon, Meltabombs, Combat shield)--155pts.
I wish I could have afforded an HQ, but I really like this list nonetheless. It seems pretty appropriate for a mobile scout force, a la Combat Patrol.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
Yay Combat Patrol
Looks like a solid army overall, only thing I would do is drop the melta bombs and combat shield to give the scouts some weapons: either a heavy bolter if they're shooty or a power weapon if they're choppy.
Wow yea hadn't thought about how the 5 man increments effect combat patrol. Now you have me thinking about how I could do ravenwing combat patrol. I know some of the rules might not be met, but 1. technicall they can be troops, 2. combat patrol is usually pretty lax and a friendly type game anyway, 3. ravenwing are by design and fluff a forward scouting force.
6 bikes, power weaon, flamer, meltagun
attack bike with heavy bolter
tornado speeder (hey it meets the armor value less then 33 hehe)
I think this comes to exactly 400. split the bikes in half, and basically out manuever everything shooting at stuff until you reduce them down enough to safely charge.
Age is a state of mind, and since I have no mind, I don't age.

Now that's an idea:w00t:
