Seems like we all have to go through it at least once, but you'll find out the first game you use one that flamers aren't all that great. Why GW puts them in every tac squad box set is anyone's guess. Maybe it's to save and put on an assault marine. I don't know. What you'll find though is a) you hardly ever get to use it, and b) when you do finally get to bust out the template, it doesn't hurt things any worse than a bolter. I'd lose it.Troops:
FlamerAgain, sort like the flamer, sniper rifles are something that leave a little to be desired. You need a lot of them for them to be worthwhile. In bigger games when you've got the points to spare and you can get 6-10 of them, give it a whirl, but at 500 points, you can't afford to waste anything.Scouts:

Missile LauncherNeed more of these to be effective at this level of game. If you're sold on the idea of using assault marines, think about making your master a chaplain with a jump pack and these guys get a whole lot more nasty. Otherwise, you're better off spending less points for a Land Speeder Tornado for your fast attack.Fast Attack:
5 Assault MarinesNone of these units are bad per se, they just don't support each other that well at this level of game. 500 points is actually pretty hard to play at because everything must do it's job if you're going to have a chance at winning. This list is a little too all over the map for this point level. You need to decide if you're going to shoot or assault and just do that. At 500 points, it's going to be hard to go assault heavy, but it can be done with CCW scouts or marines with the trait that lets you replace bolters with BP and CCWs, and your assault marines.New stratagey: CC with the obviousness, while the snipers support. tac squad keeps the snipers safe and acts as a reserve
