let me know...threw it together on some general ideas...
They got the Furious charge for the assault marines trait....
Reclusiarch, jump pack, pistol,T honours, frags
---6 man tac lascannon plasmagun
---6 man tac lascannon plasma gun
----6 man scout squad + vetfist
---6 man scout squad + vetfist
8 man assault squad + vetfist
8 man Dev squad w/ 4 Missile launchers
I was thinking, of altering it by doin the following....
Reclusiarch etc etc
6 man lasplas
6 man 2x melta gun + vetfist
6 Man scout+ vetfist
6 man scout + vetfist
7 man assault+vetfist + furious
8 man Dev 4x ML
Any input would help, they're gonna be on standard 4x4's, so walkin it aint that big a deal.
Just one question, what are you going to do against tyranids ?
I think the list is pretty good, but 6man CC scout units are going to die very fast...
I wouldn't go for the second list. That expensive second Melta gun won't give you much.
You will lose anti-tank capability because you'll -even on a 4'x4' board- only be able to fire the Meltas effectively in turn 3+ in that foot-slogging squad. A time where you already want any enemy armor destroyed and your squad to be using that Power Fist in close combat.
Against MEQ-infantry its nice to have armor-piercing shots. But that second Melta is worth a Marine and your Power Fist will do the job well enough. So give it another wound!
So, the first list: what are you going against? MoonDark has a point when he thinks Genestealers would totally rip your army apart. 12 Bolter in the entire army, not a single weapon multi-shot (except those 14 rapid fire weapons).
But you probably didn't make that list to ever face the Nids? So, who's it your up against? What missions do you play on that small board of yours?
That Assault Squad is going to do some real heavy damage. Keep it well guarded.
But there's the little weakness. If you were to infiltrate your Scouts up ahead and clear the way for your Assault Marines, then your squads of six will probably lose their Power Fists pretty quickly. All the enemy short range weapons will go into your Scouts on turn one. A lot of them probably AP4.
So you might want to keep them in cover, at least.
There's not much to comment on the list itself if you like the theme and don't give any specifics concerning opponents and missions. It seems well-rounded capable of taking out armor-heavy armies, be it in vehicles or in infantry.
You'll just not want to play hordes of close combat adept monsters like Nids or maybe even Dark Eldar. So maybe a little more anti-horde power couldn't hurt. (Unless you'll only face MEQs anyhow... - as I said: don't know what you're up against.)
Very very low chance of nid..very very low actually...
slight chance of one ork or two showing up to the tourney....so low chances i'll actually play them....
My most "obvious" enemies will probably be.
A Cheesed ultramarine list cluttered with razorbacks and whirlwinds(3)....
possibly a black templar list that is a one trick pony, 1 main squad, and possibly a 5 man detachment here or there
maybe a necron that's 100% warriors 1 lord and maybe 1 lith
Eldar that's ranger/pathfinder heavy
and Slaneeshy noise marines with a slight chance of deamonettes
Then it's all set. Stick with the first list.
And for the spare points (I think you should have some of them - 6?) maybe buy a Plasma Pistol into the Assault Squad or hand out some Melta Bombs (Reclusiarch, for instance). Just to be sure to blast the Whirlwinds once you're able to get at them behind their cover. Three of them can be a pain in the behind, even if they don't pierce your armor.
The Ork player would probably be quite tough to play with this list, but if it's not very probable then all there is to say is "good luck"!
Black Templar and Noise Marines should be fairly easy.
All Warrior Necrons will be fun for you. If he doesn't field any Destroyers or Immortals or anything he will be down to 24" with little effectiveness. And if you make him walk towards you (which you should due to your superior range) it's even down to 12" (with more effect, but...).
Blast him from afar and charge him down once he gets near! Hello, Victorious Slaughter. (Except for the Lord he won't even pierce your Scouts! Necs usually field a lot of AP4 weaponry, but... okay.)
With Eldar you'll most probably be okay too. Charge them where they can least afford it and concentrate support fire onto everything else. You'll know what to do...
So: the list should be fine. (Think about those 6 points though, and make sure those Whirlwinds die for good!)
Have fun and success battling!
