    1850 Ultramarine Tournament List

    Here is the tournament list I've been running for quite a while, I'm in the process of changing the missile dev squad to multi-meltas, amongst other things, I'll post the new list here in a few days when it's all decided.
    Looking for general input and any ideas as to what else to change.

    good list overall..but i have one question..

    why buy the devis a rhino?

    then you are missing out turns of shooting.....

    I buy the rhino for multiple reasons, the main one is so in quarter missions, such as cleanse, etc, and against armies where they have lots of infiltrators it can be used to hold them back, or prevent infiltrators from deploying in a open part of my deployment zone.

    Also, if cover is scarce, then I can put the rhino in front of the dev squad for immediate cover, if it gets blown up, I run on top for a 4+ cover save, if not, it moves out of the way and the dev squad blasts away.

    Remember, you don't have to deploy in your transport.

    I like the list as well, I've always wanted to do a large squadron landspeeder list (multimeltas rock!) I just don't have enough speeders.

    I do have a question, what do you do with the chaplain? does he ride by himself on the bike or with a unit?

    I didn't hear they were dropping the points to 1750 - why are they doing that?

    The chaplain typically fulfills 1 goal that I have in my games, headhunting.

    He Almost always starts off the game attached to the attack bike squadron next to the speeders, this isn't to protect him, but to save the bikes from rockets, lascannon shots, basically anything that causes instant death.

    During my first turn he can run with them in a turbo boost move, or jump out of the squadron and run by himself. It all depends on which way will get him to the enemy HQ first. Once he's smashed their HQ(and almost any HQ in the game will normally die horribly, 'specially after a couple multi-melta shots) he runs rampant killing units.

    As to why they're dropping the points, it's to speed up tournament rounds, as the average age of gamers goes down, the game lengths go up.
