    1750 of Ultramarines (Friendly or Tournament?)

    1750-Ultramarines

    The purpose of this army is simply to have fun and be somewhat competitive at the same time. I have wanted to drop pod the dreads for some time now and this army let's me do it.

    Can I field the dreads the way I have them? When I built the list army builder let me do it but I have a hunch they can't be outfitted that way.

    The captain is of course attached to the assault squad. I know the chaplain is better in this role but I wanted to use the Captain because I haven't in awhile. The chaplain still might come out in the final version.

    Captain (jump pack, 2 lightning claws)
    110 pts.

    4 Tactical Squads
    4 marines 1 vanilla sarge (1plas, 1las)
    400 pts combined total

    2 Tactical Squads in drop pods
    9 marines 1 powerfist sarge (8 bolters, 1 melta, 1 bolt pistol)
    440 pts combined total

    2 Dreadnoughts in drop pods (assault cannon, CCW, heavy flamer)
    290 points combined total

    1 Assault Squad
    9 marines 1 powerfist sarge (8 bolt pistols, 2 plasma pistols)
    250 points

    1 Devastator Squad
    7 marines 1 vanilla sarge (4 plasma cannons, 4 bolters)
    260 points

    1750 exactly

    I'd reccomend giving your captain some sort of invulnerable save. Aside from that, i dont play Smurfs so my input is limitted.

    ok, there are several improvements you could make to this list.

    HQ: as wokeywile said, u might wanna give the captain some sort of invulnerable save.

    Elites: good, but give the dreads extra armor as they will be sitting ducks if they get stunned.

    Troops: i feel that 4 tac squads w/ lascannons/plasma is a little excessive considering you have 4 of them and a dev squad. i would drop 1 or 2 of em and give your captain an iron halo with the points saved. also, you may want to consider giving the other tac squads 6 members to protect those heavy weapons better. as for the drop squads, perfect.

    Fast Attack: The assault marines look pretty good. depending on which army you are facing, you may want to consider swapping between flamers and plasma pistols.

    Heavy Support: Devs look good.

    Overall, this list is decent with a few changes made here and there. good luck
