Brother Captain w/ Psycannon
Troops: 400 pts
Grey Knights Squad - Justicar w/ Meltabombs + 9 Grey Knights
Storm Troopers Squad - 10 Storm Troopers w/ 2 Plasma Guns
Heavy Support: 256pts
Grey Knights Dreadnought + Twin-Linked Lascannon + Extra Armour + Smoke Launchers
Grey Knights Dreadnought + Assault Cannon + Extra Amrour + Smoke Launchers
I realise that I don't have many quarter-holding units, but I'm hoping to destroy any opposing army in record time. Here are (what I believe to be) my strengths:
And what I can see as my weakness(es?):
- Target Priority - Every unit on the field is VERY dangerous. My opponents will have to make tough decisions every shooting phase.
- Strong Anti-Armour/HQ - With the Lascannon, Autocannon and Plasma Guns, I believe I can shred the opponent's heavy support / HQ units quickly.
- Impossible Decision - If you charge my army, the Dreadnoughts and Grey Knights will love the Close-Combat. If you sit back, all units will pepper you with shots (1 Lascannon, 2 Autocannon, 1 Psycannon, 2 Plasma Gun, 24 Storm Bolter shots). My high leadership means I'll be able to target your important troops more often than not!
- Low Wounds/Model Count: With 21 wounds + Dreadnoughts @ 750 points, I'm could be shot-off-the-board before I'm able to do any damage.
Please, tell me I'm crazy! Any comments would be very welcome!
Also, why can't GKs take frag grenades?!

For such a small army I think you have too many dreads. The Autocannon dread can be a bit of a waste. Unable to reliably kill AV13 vehicles or pop marines. I would reccomend both dreads having Assault cannon and CCW and keep them cheap. It would free up points to replace ISTs for more PAGK (drop the psicannon as well for another marine.
HQ: BC + 4 GK Termies 245
Troops: 9 ISTs with 2 Plasma 110
Troops: Justicar, meltabomb + 9 PAGK 280
Heavy: Dread Asslt Cannon, CCW, Extra armour 115
The termies now make the army a killer in combat and the dread can march up in support using rending AC to kill tanks and then beging on the enemy elite troops.
Taking terminators is interesting, though I'm sure one of us is confused regarding the Assault Cannon.
My version of the codex has the assault cannon as a non-tank busting weapon. edit: It seems the new space marine codex has a newer assault cannon spec.
In my list, the Lascannon Dread is for Tank hunting and the Autocannon Dread is for troop suppression as it surges forward. I chose TLAC over Assault cannon for the +1 STR and extra accuracy (for only 5 points extra).
I like how you've included the terminators, but I feel that your list would be very susceptible to an armoured assault. How would you face up to AV 14?

So the assault cannon has changed and is now heavy 4 and rending...
I would make both Dreads have AC/CCW as they can be both armour and infantry And you will find in small games that some people dont have any vehicles
EDIT: I would lose the GKT's and get another squad of IST and give them both a teleport homer... gives you options on different maps of how you wish to play.
Remember, that everone should have their codex and stuff so not to post stats
I appreciate you were clarifying something Jando, but just watch out for it champ. ^_^
eer.. yeah... *wanders off*

Yes if the ISTs infiltrated or were on bikes or had a transport but you may as well footslog yourself and keep the 20 stormbolt shots per turn. 2 IST squads could easily be cut down by heavy bolters or turn and run.
Yeah sorry... was thinking of them in rhino's Was in a bit of a rush when writing it
Could you afford a rhino if you turned your lascannon and autocannon into Assault Cannons and lost a GK...
Its another option
I don't think I can afford to lose the Lascannon Dread.
Even though I now know that the Assault Cannon stats have been updated in the latest Space Marine codex, it is still not a tank-busting weapon... unless I start rolling sixes. Even if the to-hit roll is a rend, I'd still need 7+ on 2d6 to hurt AV 13...
On a Lascannon, I will usually hit (Twin-Linked) and only need a 4+ to do some damage.
I'd LOVE to find space for a rhino, but I can't Fast-Attack my GKs anyway, since I'd then only have a single TROOPS entry...
My latest list is below: (751 pts, damn that Brother-Captain!)
HQ: 91 pts
Brother Captain w/ Psycannon
TROOPS: 400 pts
Justicar + 6 PAGK (200)
Justicar + 6 PAGK (200) *Meltabombs
*9 IST, 2 with Plasmaguns 110
HEAVY SUPPORT: 260 pts
GK Dreadnought - TLLC + ML + Extra Armour (145)
*GK Dreadnought - Assault Cannon + Extra Armour (115)
The units marked with a '*' are interchangeable. The Dread will come in against horde armies while the Plasma-equipped ISTs will face the MEQs.
what am I, the pope?
Looks fairly solid, jaNDo.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.
