    Quick 1500pt Armoured Company

Was just throwing a few things about last night and came up with Armoured Company list:

    //

    HQ
    Commander Exterminator
---HB Hull, HB Sponsons, Extra Armour, Smoke Launchers, Pintle-Mounted Heavy Stubber
    ---Doctrines (see below)
    280pts

    Elites
    Ace Exterminator
---HB Hull, HB Sponsons, Extra Armour, Smoke Launchers, Pintle-Mounted Heavy Stubber
    ---Doctrines (see below)
    245pts

    Troops
    Leman Russ Battle Tank
---HB Hull, HB Sponsons, Extra Armour, Smoke Launchers, AT Rounds
    183pts

    Leman Russ Battle Tank
---HB Hull, HB Sponsons, Extra Armour, Smoke Launchers, AT Rounds
    183pts

    Leman Russ Battle Tank
---Lascannon Hull, HB Sponsons, Extra Armour, Smoke Launchers, AT Rounds
    193pts

    Fast Attack
    Hellhound
    ---Extra Armour, Smoke Launchers
    125pts

    Heavy Support
    Demolisher
---HB Hull, HB Sponsons, Extra Armour, Smoke Launchers
    163pts

    Demolisher
---HB Hull, HB Sponsons, Extra Armour, Smoke Launchers
    163pts

    Doctrines
Because Commanders and Aces have to have at least as many points in Doctrines as any other tank, I'll have to give them 20+pts of doctrines. I would guess that the best would be Ace Sponson Gunners and Ace Driver, OR Ace Gunners. Ideas?

    //

Basically, the Commander and Ace with their improved BS and doctrines will lead the army. The Russes are the initial AT with their AT shells. Hellhound stays behind main army for protection and is used to stop infiltrators/deep strikers/flankers etc. Demolishers will probably lead the army from the sides due to better armour and demolisher cannon.

Thoughts? The things I'm not sure about are:
    • Hellhound - Only "weak" vehicle so will attract a lot of fire, anything S6+ really.
    • Commander/Ace doctrines - Which ones?

Well, ATM I have no tanks.

I already have 8 tanks in this list, so is it really worth squeezing in another? Removing all the EAs, SLs and PMHSs would save me a mere 88 points, but IMO make my army a lot less effective.

    Anyone else?

I think I would swap the Hellhound for three Heavy Flamer-Sentinels.
But I have no experience with AC what so ever...yet
But given time as an Imperial Guard Commander I can see no way of not getting myself one soon.

Why 3 heavy flamer sentinels over a hellhound? The range is a lot less, and sentinels are weaker, so wouldnt it be unlikely the flamers would ever get to shoot? After all, in a see of AV14, an opened-top AV10 would get everything S4+ firing at it.

Apart from that, any advice? Is the EA/SL worth it, or should I cut down?
How about the AT Rounds? And the other doctrines?

True, but what upgrades can I get rid of? As I said, removing all the EAs/SLs/PMHSs only gives me 88pts. Sure, I could remove the sponsons or hull weapons, but that seriously reduces a LR's efficiency. Armourment Destroyed = Weaponless tank. Battle cannon != AI. So IMO I need the HBs.

Someone on 'Seer said remove all Doctrines and swap the Ace/Commander Exterminators for Vanquishers. Thoughts?

I'd like the Sentinels (one in each squad) to be able to flame enemy infantry that comes close to the tanks and then tie them up in CC. This would give the other tanks time to get away from them and then blast them to pieces when the Sentinel is gone.
    Like mobile shields.

But like I said, I have no AC-experience what so ever. It's all just in my imagination.

drop some upgrade to add a pintle heavy stubber to the hellhound it can really improve their peformance by a lot, and despite the sea of AV 14 most people are scared to death of the hellhound even if its not the real threat so try to have it hidden then come out and flame anything that gets to close to your tanks or have a heavy tank or 2 really close to it like within 10 inches so your opponent has to choose carefully what to shoot at and it will protect your vehicles more because he may start making mistakes on what he should shoot

Get rid of anti tank shells and upgrade to Vanquishers for the ace and HQ, its far more effective since you can move and fire, ace gunners will help stop you from missing, and they can still be used to destroy infantry.

also I would then swap this tank

with the spare Exterminator, giving you the points needed for Vanquisher upgrades, while retaining anti horde firepower
