    1.5k Points Competitive Mech Guard

    Here is my idea for the TOS. It is still in the Beta stage so any changes will be appreciated.

    HQ
    Lord Commissar w. PP,CA - 90

    Troops

    Chimera backed Meltavets w. xtra armour- 170

    Chimera backed Meltavets w. xtra armour - 170

    CarapaceVets w. 3PG, PP - 155

    CarapaceVets w. 3PG - 145


    Fast Attack

    Vendetta w. HB - 140

    Vendetta w. HB - 140


    Heavy Support

    Leman Russ - 150

    Leman Russ - 150

    Leman Russ Executioner - 190


    Total - 1500


    The idea is to mount the CaraVets into the Vendettas and either Outflank or skirt the board edge and snipe armour from afar/outflank and catch the side armour. The MeltaVets will hide behind the slow advancing form of my three Russes as they punish anything under AV13 or MEQ's. Any AV13+ will feel the driveby fury of my meltavets! The CaraVets stay embarked unless required to wipe out a MEQ squad with torrents of AP2 fire, backed up by the Vendettas HB sponsons. Other than these tactica, I guess I will just wing it or think it

    What do my Peers feel? This is my first TOS tournament so I am worried D:

    Not quite sure what this guy is going to be doing. He is a combat character, and a leadership character. Due to there only being 40 other guys in the army, and they all have transports, his leadership role is redundant. That only leaves combat, but he only has a CC weapon? At the very, very least give him a power weapon, preferably a power fist. However, a Primaris Psyker or a Company Command squad would serve you better. Both add significant firepower.

    This looks ok, but you couldn't go wrong with another melta vet squad, or maybe an infantry platoon. Fast Attack

    Not sure about 3 Leman Russes at this points level. I'd suggest dropping that very expensive Executioner, and upgrading one of the Russes to a Demolisher. If you plan to advance to the midfield you will need that S10.

    Overall, not a bad start, but you need to tighten things up a bit. A the moment, you seem to be a bit 'dispersed' with your army selection. You need to concentrate on troops a bit more, and add some more heavy anti tank.

    I find the cost of extra armor ruins the cost advantage that Chimeras enjoy. Dropping that alone would give you the points to add Hull Lascannons to your basic Russes. The lascannons would give you additional ranged AT threat that would outshine the limited increase in survivability of the extra armor upgrade on your transports. I have to concur with ChadMS on two key points. Your HQ needs to be rethought and you should drop the Executioner to finance that and another troop choice. Overall, it is not a bad first draft. I think that it will perform significantly better with those tweaks.

    Excellent ideas . The funny thing is that the three russes and the commissar were an idea I got from a friend. I liked the idea of Extra armour just to keep my chimeravets moving on the field, but I understand your ideas. Redraft has been done I thank you all
