Why include the Marines at all? They aren't doing anything that another Vet squad wouldn't. Astartes allies are better used for close combat or to complement a low-mobility list. I'd rather bring plasma cannons on Sentinels than Marines, anyway; as a blast weapon, the PC cannot snap-fire. It gets better elevation for LOS on metal chickens, too.

The Bastion has limited fire points so the Ratlings wouldn't be usable at full effect unless positioned on the battlement...but then, they won't be fearless. Better to populate the Bastion with a minimal platoon. Two infantry squads with HW indoors, a PCS on top to work the quad-gun...maybe with sniper rifles, too, if you like.

Thanks intrepid... My other thought was to make the chaplain in terminator armor and add a Terminator assault squad... drop the tac squad to sniper scouts and add tellion to work the quad gun...

Assault Terminators need a transport, typically a Land Raider, to be effective (or just to keep up with your Chimeras). You could do this with Grey Knights or Dark Angels...probably not Vanilla, since they can't be troops.

Makes more sense to use a Marine Captain & Bike Squad or BA Reclusiarch & Assault Squad. They don't get the awesome armor save but each is a cheap and effective ally contingent.

    -BA Reclusiarch

x9 Death Company with bolters, a thunder hammer and a power weapon

    -BA Rhino

Costs you less than 1/3rd of your total points and does everything your IG can't and it will protect you from the most uber-killy CC units and hordes alike.
The only honorable options left to we combatants is seppuku or semantics...which amount to the same thing really.

Not familiar with Reclusiarch... What model would represent it?

May not be the best idea... but Reclusiarch 10 death company, death company dread and a stormraven... I really want the model...

That would work well. I'd opt for five DC with packs over ten without, just in case the SR goes down early. They're pretty much guaranteed Hammer of Wrath hits when charging out of the SR, which helps compensate for the lower model count.

Any Chaplain model would suffice. The Reclusiarch is an HQ-level chaplain, is all.
