battlezone: christmas 1.5k

me and my brother decided we're gonna play a lot over winter break, so i decided to make a new list. tell me what y'all think:

Troops

platoon 1
3 squads of guardsmen, all with autocannons and grenade launchers
1 junior officer and attending staff

platoon 2
3 squads of guardsmen all with grenade launchers, 1 lascannon, 2 missile launchers
1 junior officer and attending staff

HQ

senior officer and attending staff
4 meltas used by the attending staff
chimera transport with multilaser, heavy bolter, extra armour, trackguards, and smoke launchers

special weapon squad with 3 meltas
chimera equipped as the one above

fast attack

helhound

heavy support

russ

demolisher
hull mounted hvy bltr, plasma cannon sponsons

basilisk

all of this totals to 1499 pts.

i realize i went a little melta heavy, but this is to counter the terminators i comonly face. if i let them into my lines, it's over! tell me what you think.

Nothing like some family wargaming during the holidays eh?

If you're facing your brother's Space Marines then maybe the Hellhound's not the greatest choice. You can field two Sentinels, each in their own squadron, with Multi-Lasers (or even Multi-Meltas if you have Imperial Armour 3) which should help out more.

If you can find the points, say from the Track Guards which you don't really need, upgrade your Senior Officer to a Heroic Senior Officer.

I like the list, though one or two Meltas for Plasma Guns would help out against Termies too and at much longer ranges. But those Plasma Cannon sponsoons on the Demolisher might take care of that.

Looks like a fun list.

I say swap out all Meltas for Plasmas. Still some good armor-piercing potential, but more shots and better range. Also, think about taking Carapace Armor as a doctrine- it will, against bolter fire, double your armor save, for 20pts a squad.
