The Plas/Bolter combo is great for killing all sorts of infantry, so that's what I put in line squads (since their lasguns only hurt infantry anyways). However, I find that for flexibility the grenade launcher/missile launcher combo works well too.

My favourite combo has to be grenade launcher and heavy bolter but when fighting marine armies it has to be plasma gun and missile launcher.

Plamagun and Heavy Bolter for every infantry squad I have. The main reason behind this is I don't want my infantry shooting at tanks and wasting precious lasgun shots.

I use my line squads for tank hunting while my tanks wail away on their infantry. For this reason I use half my squads as Plasma/Lascannons and the other half as Plasma/Missile launchers.

I go with autocannon and grenade launcher in line squads, the platoon commands and Hq's all have plasma.

I prefer Grenade Launcher/Missile Launcher combo when I do field a heavy weapon in the squad. That said my IG army is primarily CoD based so I tend to put the heavy weapons in support squads whilst my line squads use a special weapon and can advance to claim buildings. On an open field I rework my list to drop some missile launchers in the line squads as they then tend to stay put.

You forgot the put in mortars. Not that I would have voted for them, but someone might want to. There are several configurations that make perfectly valid squads, but I went with heavy bolter and grenade laucnher because thats what i use. I use plasma guns and autocannons in my army as well, but those go in my veteran squads, which I use as line squads with better BS and more spec weapons. I also use 3 lascannons, but they go in a HW squad because I ran out of squads to put my HWs in and Lascannons are the only weapons that dont cost more in HW squads.

No Jungle Fighter Heavy Flamer/Grenade launcher combos either-not Line Inf I suppose. Otherwise ML/GL for me as they're the best range and S and can be used by Sharpshooters. Meltas are nice but too short-ranged, and you don't want Guard to get close to an enemy unless they're either Vets or have some silly close combat doctrines. Plasmas are a bit of a waste if one overheats-the unlucky Guardsman dies too easily with no armour save to speak of. Missile Launchers are always good-as good as AC really why you look at the S and AP in detail. Just my 2p.
