Ok i've been playing space marines for a while and now i decided to collect IG, i have a decent amount of models so far and when i was planning on getting some heavy weapons platoons and looked at the codex i got confused.

So the question is for a heavy weapon platoon where it says you need 1-3 suppot units does that mean for instance if i wanted as many missile launchers as possible that i would get 3 or 9 for 1 heavy weapon platoon. should be easy to answer i hope, thanks.

You can have 3, 6 or 9 as one choice

Actualy you can have 10... 3 missiles on 3 support squads=9 plus another one on the command section of the platoon....

i wasnt really all that interested in the missile launcher, it was just the easiest way i could think of asking my question. all i needed to know is that in 1 HW Platoon that you could have up to 9 bases.

Right. For one Heavy Support choice you get 1-3 squads of six men paired into three two man heavy weapon teams. Remember that, like some other things in IG, even though its only one HS choice it is 3 SQUADS that can deploy and fire independantly. Plus the command section. Thats a lot of lascannons...
