Rep Power: 74 ![]() | I am not new to 40k, but I am very new to the Imperial Guard. I just started painting my army last week. My question is: I understand that each heavy weapon team needs two men, but how do I treat the new models in a game? Can the heavy weapon still be used if one of the two guardsman is killed? Because the model has two men manning the weapon, do I treat each base as a model with two wounds? Thanks in advance, Alan

When the base takes a wound count the crewman as dead, some people place a D6 to remind them the crewman is dead. I Pinned the feet of the crewman to the base and did not glue him in place, that way I can just pull the model off. I use the medium sized bases wherever possible as well. The mortar, and missile launcher fit well on them, that way you can have a separate model for the crew. -GM

There are no formal rules that say: If a base is two models, treat it as two differant models for wound purposes, it's just something you do. As the rules state it, it's two differant guys, they're just both on the same base.

Ok, Let me try and understand something... 1. These large bases are considered two models. 2. You may consider them almost like one large model with two wounds. 3. They may still fire the heavy weapon if one of the men is killed. (Or the model has taken a wound.) 4. The second man may also fire his LasGun during the shooting phase. (A support team of 3 Missle Launchers would actually get 3 ML shots and 3 Lasgun shots.) Are all these statements true?

Yes the statements are true, the loader can fire his lasgun, he can even rapid fire it if he can.

they are two models, they just happen to be on the same base.

One thing I've always wondered, can the heavy platform move after the loader has been shot up?
