Can you give a link for the first and a page reference for the other? I am familiar with every Russ variant in existence, so I am quite curious...

I am afraid thats not completely true, space wolves will be released some time in December but Guard wont be remade until necrons, dark eldar, space marines and possibly daemonhunters are redone which will take at least 8-12 months.

You are having a laugh! 8-12 months?! I wish!
By this time next year i expect SMurfs, Space Wolves, IG and possibly Necrons OR Dark Eldar with the one not done to be early 2010. 2010 will proberly be nids, tau and the Space Marine chapters (dark angels, black templars etc). 2011 MAY bring the =][= codex but who knows, could even be a new eldar dex by then. My moneys on it being called "forces of the imperium" with em all in it BTW.
Back on topic tho ive heard that guard are getting a new HQ (sort of) in the form of an =][= so by extension guard players may also get assassins as actual choices and not allies.

If you have the 5th Ed book, look up the Guard part in the fluff section. You'll see a bunch of small pictures of guard units, and one is a LR with 4 small barrels on the turret.

WraithGuardian, I dunno where you heard that from, but every rumor I've seen says IG are out Q1 '09.

Yeah, I was wondering about that picture too. Almost looks like an uber melta weapon of some kind.

And the tank does have multimelta side sponsons too, so maybe, maybe...

As for an IG codex upgrade - I don't want one! Although, in all honesty, I think IG in 5th edition might need a little nerfing... as its far too easy to make an awesomely dangerous army list now!

Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.

That, Cadaver Junkie, is because you are the eternal defender of all things IG. From warrior weapons to sanctioned psykers, there is no unit you won't argue as good/useful.

My thoughts were something similar to the new SM thunderfire gun, or a Thudd Gun. It wouldn't hurt to have a really good vehicle busting weapon, and it'd be fluffy in establishing our vehicular superiority. I doubt we'll know anything definitive until maybe December at the earliest.

Ah, yes that picture. I thought you meant there was an actual model. I noticed that the first time around, and I am really not inclined to trust it too much, that chart (cool as it is) has a lot of inaccuracies as far as the images go…

And on another note, I really hope we don’t see our doctrines and Armored Fists go. We could stand to see ratlings go (I mean really, who wants them?), and we could stand to get a new HQ choice, and a fast attack that is actually fast…

Well, I hate the models, but I like the rules. I might just sub in cadian snipers.
