Rep Power: 57 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Heavy weapons teams are supplied with a large base for both crewman and the weapon. Treat them as two separate models that are based together for the convenience of movement. So i should be fine if i use separate bases for the missile launcher and other crewman? In the last edition of IG (to my knowledge) the models didnt have to be on the same base. Am i correct, or completely wrong  Cheers |

from what I know and understand it is completely legal to have one team as two models on seperate bases. I would suggest you still keep a base contact between them just for appearances sake but It's not necessary. In fact, some of the metal guard regiments come with two-model heavy weapon teams (namely the steel legion missile launcher). I actually plan on doing something like this for most of my heav weapons so I see no reason it would be dissalowed. Mind you there may be something I don't know so what for further answers before modelling.

Yeah its fine. I've even gone the lazy option and used heavy bolter servitors for some of the heavy bolters in my army, and they're just based on the small bases. Go for it! (You can also make a free mortar, just build the thing, put it on a medium sized base, and then state that two guys in your squad are using it!)

Just to clarify the point made by Cadaver Junkie. You MUST specify which 2 men are using the mortar. If they both become casualties then the mortar (or any other heavy weapon used like this) must be removed. Regards Ian |

Depending on what bits you have, you can actually get more heavy's from you pack. If you only use the crouching legs for the trooper with the actual heavy weapon, you still have one set of crouching legs spare. If you have ever bought a tank, there's firing arms on the accessory sprue, just with a slightly different handle shape and no shoulder pads. Then basically, with a spare torso/head, you have another crouching gunner body ready to use with another heavy weapon. The handles can be trimmed so they meet flush with any of the heavies you have spare, then its a simple matter of green stuffing a couple of shoulder pads onto the arms, and either making a tripod from bits or just simply green stuffing some sand bags to rest the heavy weapon on. The heavy weapon box is actually one of the best value kits there is simply because it really does give you so much more than just 3 heavy wepon teams.
