What could I use as a drill short of an actual drill?

A very pointy knife, though a small drill isnt that expensive and well worth the money.

GW products are horribly ovepriced, I have no qualms downloading a book. On that note if you go to staples or any other sotre like that they usually have binders to turn a packet of paper into a nice army book!
this may just be for the mighty australian store, but you have to have an actual legit copy of the book to play in the store. they wouldnt let anyone play if they had an ILLEGAL copy of the book.
I am the defender of the Daemonhunter anti-armour abilities. They're there, I promise
that's universal for all GW shops, I beleive. They don't let you use non-gw models, they're never gonna let you use an illegal download.
FABRICATI DIEM, PVNC
Does that mean that jh316's idea is not allowed? Can you improvise a tripod for the other guns?
On Warseer: Iracundus: "So you might end up with "renegade" Chapters, but more split due to ideology rather than because the big bogeyman of Chaos suddenly makes them all cackling mustache twirling villains."
In short the idea is fine and legal
The long answer is as follows...
By non-GW models they mean anything produced and marketed for sale by another company however the application of this rule is down to the manager.
eg. a WW2 tank used as a Russ with no mods isn't ok
A WW2 tank used as a Russ with weapons swapped out iffy but allowed if it fits and the rest of your stuff is GW ie. managers descretion so ask first.
A WW2 tank with altered hull and GW weapons and bits is fine.
The odd figure here and there you can get away with but whole regiments of troops you cant, eg. I have a DoW army that is mostly foundry miniatures so that wouldnt be allowed in a GW store or tournie.
Conversions are absolutely fine, so is making something out of greenstuff or heavily converting something out of greenstuff. (If you sculpted a whole army in the GW style but your own minis then there may be problems but TBH that isn't going to happen lol).
Soooo conversions using random bits: fine as long as the finsihed product uses mostly GW or bits of rubbish ie. sprue etc.
Hope that helps

Gw stores should be fine with just about any model so long as they've made some kind profit off of it, that would incluse converting it with their products
Played since december/03 W/D/L Feb.6-09- now 40k Guard 22-9-9 Marines 5-3-4 DE 4-3-1

thanks so much man. I am trying to build a full imperium army (excluding the witch hunters cuz i hate them) I already have space marines and daemonhunters and i am just getting into the imperial guard and i had no idea where to start so thanks for the advice
Daemonhunter here, and i've been curious about guard for a bit.
My DH force that's playable as an ally consists of
8 Grey Knight Termies
12 PAGK's (two brother-captains, two with incinerators)
26 (repeat twenty-six) storm troopers, 4 with plasma's, 4 with meltas, 1 with PW
Inquisitor with retinue (sages, mystics, 2 heavy bolters, one plasma cannon, various assassins)
Any thoughts on how to get to a quasi-competitive 1000 point list. I'm also looking for good synergy with the existing inquisitorial and grey-kinght goodness. Thanks for any advice.
