A long time ago, in a world far far away I used to frequent these forums on a daily basis... in fact an almost hourly basis.
Anyhow, I've been stationed at a new base and there is only one small gaming store here which has completely converted their gaming habits over to Flames of War, which I'm not really interested in playing. In fact, I'm not really interested in playing any wargames for a few more years at least, the lure of the dark side (MMO's) has proven too powerful for me to resist.
The hobby was great. I loved every army I ever owned from the first Squat army I bought and painted in the late 80's to the Minotaur Beastman army I bought and painted two years ago. Imperial Guard will always be my greatest love, if for no other reason than they were actually challenging to play unlike the Necrons and Space Marines I owned. Although having the Necron "I Win" button was certainly great for removing some players from their massive ego's when I showed up at a new store.
I really enjoyed it while I participated, and the Game Habitat in Monterey California where I lived and played for two years was the best, and most friendly environment I've ever enjoyed in a gaming community.
For now I have moved on to a much more interactive (and infinitely cheaper) EVE Online. If anyone else plays EVE Online, or just wants to look me up on the EVE forums sometime, then I go by Neesa Corrinne on that game. (Minmatar Victory! Death To All Slavers!)
Since I'll be stuck here, with no GW players for the next 7 years, I've decided to go ahead and sell off the rest of my stuff.
My very last army is up on eBay now: White Scars Army
The rest of it will be appearing soon, all the codices, WHFB books, my HUGE bitz box (going back to 1989 when I first started playing), and various IG stuff that still left over from selling those armies off locally, plus stuff in hundreds of boxes that I haven't opened in years and god knows whats in them.
Check that auction out if you want to see my best work. It's 100% converted. Not one single, non-vehicle model, was left unconverted. (40k tanks are way cool on their own)
Remember, always have fun with every game. If you aren't having fun, winning or losing, then you aren't playing right,
Always sad to see a veteran, both to the hobby and to this board, leave
But im sure you'll be back one day, and think of the fun you'll have having to start from scratch! good luck on EVE online, whatever that is! ;p
PLAN CLAN MAN!!

Take care, and careful with those MMOGs! For old times sake, :drinking:
I've been contemplating EVE myself since more traditional online RPGs just seem like so much grinding for better stuff so that you can grind tougher mobs so that you can get yet more powerful stuff... Perhaps I'll see you around!
