Hey all. Just found this site and think its really great! Ive looked around for a good and active forum and this is by far the best. I'm rather new to the gaming aspect of the hobby but have been interested in it for a LONG time. Because I dont have a job and have $0 im going to get as much warhammer 40k as i can for my birthday at the beginning of april. So I have long time to plan what I want to get. Im thinking of going nurge death guard or necrons. Mainly because I really like elite infantry and I dont want to have to spend too much time painting. Also is there anyone on here who plays at Perth WA games workshop?
Well i wont argue with you, LO is definitely the best place to be As for army preference, id be looking to tempt you towards Crons. April gives you plenty of time to make up your mind and get an idea of what you want and need, and im sure youll find everything you need here. Welcome!
Hey, Yeah ive been leaning towards crons. I really like the look of the wraiths and flayed ones minis amd I love using them in Dow however im not sure how that would translate to tabletop. In fact i really like all of the models from the necron range. Im also looking into some colour schemes that arent just boltgun metal. Im thinking of doing a metalic blue or maybe red. Ill pprobably get the battle force, necron lord (not sure whether to get destroyer or on foot though) and some wraiths for abit more variety. Ive got the rule book from battle for maccrage and i should be able to get a codex w/ my pocket money. Also seeing as necrons cost lots of points I probably wont need to spend too much money on models
Im not a huge DoW player, but Crons are pretty similiar. Slow(ish, the warriors are atleast) resiliant and devastating.
The Battleforce is an excelllent starting point, and as you are going with 3 Wraiths aswell, i think id recommend a DesLord to join them and the Scarabs. Having a Lord sitting with your warriors just for the ResOrb is often a bit pointless, considering you are generally best off avoiding combat.
Also, make the Scarabs 3 to a base (with one base of 2 and one of 1 for when they get wounded)
