Once upon a time, perhaps in 1995 or close to that year, I was introduced to Warhammer. By that time I had already played various table top games. Warhammer smelled of Hero Quest and I took to it with glee.
This may have been back in the time better known as 'Hero Hammer.' My High Elves rode into town on monstrous steeds and terrible power. Unfortunately I was unable to continue playing once I got to college in 2000.
Eight long years passed: a bachelor's degree and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy later I have been able to come back from the dead, as the expression goes, and start playing again.
I was originally a table top role player, primarily White Wolf and the occasional D&D game. Wargaming was a welcome addition to my hobbies when I started. Right now it still has to take something of a back seat until I pass my license exam.
At any rate I've actually lurked around LO for a few months now. I thought I would make my presence known and perhaps, gasp, even add something worthwhile to the wealth of knowledge here.
First, a simple battle report.
Second, I would like to thank the parties responsible for organizing, weeding, pruning and generally keeping this forum together. I have found no end of useful information here.
Third, I am a 26 year old on the verge of entering the medical field through Physical Therapy (or sometimes known as Physiotherapists). I am engaged with my wedding set on October, 18th of this year. I live in Alexandria, Virginia, USA which is essentially right next to Washington DC. I am originally from Michigan but grew up in Idaho. My favorite band is the 'Foo Fighters,' movie: '5th Element,' book: 'Farenheit 451,' drink: Guiness.'
I play the High Elves because they were elves but were totally different from the stereotypical 'elf living whimsically in the woods' (my apologies to all wood elf players, some of your army looks fantastic but I am very much over the tree-hugger elf look).
I could blather on but I'll hold my tongue for now, especially after alienating myself from all wood elves.
See you around (especially after June 20th when I take the exam).
Hey, welcome to LO! Not an Elf player myself, but Fantasy is my main game, Tomb Kings / Beasts.
Thats a nice battle report visual, good diagrams. Ill give it a thorough read in a bit, and look forward to seeing more of those.
Pleas take a moment to have a look at the forum rules, mostly common sense stuff really, but just so youre aware Thanks.

Very nice introduction, and a warm-hearted welcome to LO for you. Be sure to check out our forum rules (you can find the link in my signature). I also live in Virginia, although it's down in the southwest instead of up there by DC.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM myself or another moderator.
It looks like you should fit in nicely. It's always nice to see another High Elf who drinks Guinness about the place!
Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.
Additionally, Phoenix and Lost Nemesis, you both mention the rules and I have re-read them as per your request. However, is this a standard thing you mention or did I unintentionally violate something? I ask because you both mentioned it.
Until next time.
Oh, no don't worry! Its just a standard thing to mention in replies to Introductions, just in case. Hope it didnt come across too badly lol, apologies. Enjoy LO!
Ah good. No need to worry then I was merely surprised to see it mentioned twice. Think of it akin to "Office Space," "Did you read the memo about those TPS reports?"
TPS memo what now? think i missed that.
Nice intro. I love the movie choice, and the book choice is even better. I see by your nick that you're also a Kipling fan, eh? Gotta love well-read people! Welcome!
