About three years ago, I stopped playing Warhammer, Warhammer 40k, Battlefleet Gothic, Warmachine and a couple other wargames. I did this for a multitude of reasons, the last of which was that all of my armies were destroyed in a single calamitous event.
Back then I had Imperial Guard, Necrons, Tau, Tyranids, Space Marines, Beasts of Chaos, Dwarfs, two Valkryies, a Vulture, a Baneblade, Imperial BFG fleet, Necron BFG fleet, Judean DBM army, and a Khador Warmachine army. When I had them shipped back home from Korea, even though I had taken many precautions to ensure their safety, the box that I had packed and shipped them all in was accidentally crushed nearly flat.
The only models to survive were the Space Marine bikers, and even they required extensive repairs. I was so devastated, that I literally dumped the whole box into the nearest trash bin, models, paints, tools.. all of it. I was depressed and I just had to get it out of my life. Literally 10 years worth of modeling work went down the drain in one blow.
It's been three years since then, and I think I'm ready to start over in the hobby. I've pulled my recovered Space Marines out of their box, purchased a few new codices, the new rule book and I'm even heading to the nearby hobby store to try my hand in a game or two this weekend.
Perhaps, I'll even get back into writing the lengthy tactical articles that I used to write just for fun.
PS. If you play EVE Online you can look me up there too. I go by Neesa Corrinne and I play for a couple of hours every day.
Welcome back, H0urg1ass.
And... whoa, talk about bad luck...
But you're back in the game now and ready to kick ass and take names, right?
I hope you will find the 'hobby spirit' again and continue to have a great time with us here at LO!
I'm still trying to figure out what these new fangled "credits" are. I have over 30,000 of them and I have no clue why!
For LO Credits info:
Hi there, H0urg1ass! Good to see you back on the site.
The destruction of so many of your models, that would almost turn me off entirely. Ah, but the gamer's spirit perseveres, no?
Anyhow, see you on the boards.
