Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi peoples of the librarium. My name is Patrick. I'm new to Warhammer 40k but hope to learn a ton here. I've played my buddy's Necron army a bunch and am planning on putting together a 1500pt Daemon Hunter army to start. I am actually more excited about painting models and customizing than playing. I am a art nerd i guess. I have a degree in studio art with an emphasis in painting and am about 3/5s done with a Video Game Art B.A. So I guess I have some fancy paper saying that I like to paint along with a trail of art that I try to shed from time to time on unsuspecting friends. Hopefully i can make a career in the video game world with the knowledge that i'm gaining from this degree. I really like to model digitally and with traditional mediums. I'm gonna start scraping money together for my army and supplies sooner than later (hehe..i've got the itch BAD). I kinda wish I were an acrylic painter and didn't have all this oil paint lying around 'cus i'd have hit two birds with one stone or something like that. Anyhow, I hope to be able to contribute to the forums and get a lot of help as well. I have been really impressed with the quality of posts people make around here! Anyways...take it e.z. and see you around the boards!

Awesome, you should show off some of your art in the, uh, art show off forum. Hmm, need to go look....
....Okay, it's the Sketch Book. The Sketch Book - Librarium Online
You'd think I was new to the forum myself...sigh.
Anyhow, welcome aboard.
Hi there, and welcome to the forums!
Daemon hunters are a tough army to start with for some, but if you want something to flex your painting muscles with, that's a good place to start. The Grey Knights models are very intricate and detailed. Yes, most people paint acrylics on those, but I've heard occasional tales of people using oils. Only thing is, you need to thin the paints dramatically, and most people just don't like fiddling with that kind of volume of chemicals. You'd certainly stand out if you tried that, however.
At any rate, be sure to check out the Daemonhunters sub-forum for advice and discussion.
Again, welcome aboard!
