My name is Brent, I'm a new member....
I have Space Marine, Necron, and Tyranid armies, and am starting to get the itch to build an Imperial Guard force...it's hard to resist all those new models!
I live in Amherst, New Hampshire, if there's anyone nearby for a friendly game....
Howdy back Brent (and coming from Texas, I think I've earned the right to 'howdy')

Welcome to the boards!
I'm a Guard and Necron player, and I think you should go for it! The new models do look amazing, and I'm looking forward to expanding my forces with them!
Feel free to shout if you have any questions, there are plenty of people on the boards who are more than willing to help!
Enjoy your time here!
Tyranids and Necrons, oh my! Mindless killing machines... But you play Space Marines? Neat! Tell us about your chapter?
Well, since you ask....
My chapter is called the Legio Leonidii...they are the Guardians of the Gates...the Emperor's Immortal 300.
The chapter is based on King Leonidas and the 300 Spartans who fought at Thermopylae...I've been working on them for a couple of years now (since well before the cartoon...uh, movie..."300" came out).
They're gray in color overall, with dark maroon shoulder pads; the chapter insignia is a silhouette of a Greek helmet, in metallic gold. I'll see if I can't find a photo and post it.
While it's a DIY chapter, I follow standard codex rules--at least so far.
I saw '300', it was relentless and intense. But you were styling your Space Marine Legion after the Spartans even before the movie and comic popularized them? Nice! Are the gates kept by Legio Leonidii the gates of the Imperial Palace that Horus assaulted in the last days of the Heresy?
Yes, Francois, that's exactly what I intended....
I'm a big history buff, so I chose to build my chapter around this memorable battle.
But being a history buff, I did not enjoy "300," there was too much weirdness in it! Xerxes 7 feet tall with 873 body piercings? Armored rhinos? Too much for me!
