Back from a long break from Games Workshop and Warhammer 40k. I used to play Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader back in the day but drifted away from it but over the last month or so Ive bought some new figures, painted them and the new WH40K rulebook and looking forward to gaming again.
Its an addictive and expensive hobby.
Awesome, another 'old timer'! What did you used to play? What are you going to play now? Welcome to the Librarium Online, I hope today's 40K gives you exciting games that will be fond memories come another 20 years from today
Well I used to play Warhammer 1st Edition, and also Blood Bowl and D&D and Call of Cthulu but then got older and it was all a bit "geeky" but now Im back when I am too old and dont care about my Geeky past times.
I have assembled a 1500 point Space Marine force over the last couple of weeks and have just bought the Citadel game board and dreading painting it.
welcome aboard and all kinds of players are needed. Hopefully your local gaming store is as good as the one near me.
Been painting a lot over the last few weeks and trying to absorb the rules but first proper game on Friday.
With reference to painting your gaming board, Id pick a colour you like, then go to a DIY shop and buy a tin of paint from there. Always paint with a wall brush, then go back and pick out the details. It might be an idea to grab some masking tape and tape over them to avoid clogging detail. Try dry brushing the whole board a few lighter shades of your chosen colour, but instead of just doing a lighter version, mix it with different reds, browns and greens to get more natural colours.
All the best on the baord and I hope to see you around on the forums.
Hey there XRayLeXX,
Hope you have a great game Friday! Post some pics of your marines when you can.
Ill take a long shot as the painting doesnt exactly hold up to close up scrutiny. lol.
I did manage to paint about 50 of them and some vehicles in only 2 or 3 weeks.
My eyes and fingers and too old for the finer details.
Welcome back to the fold!
