Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well I guess it's time to stop lurking about and actually make a post or two, and figure I might as well start here.
I used to paint Warhammer Fantasy minis about 7-8 years or so ago . Got introduced by a few friends in school, and we used to be a small group painting together. Things sort of died off after a while though.
After finding some of my old Orcs, a High Elf Codex and a bag of static grass, I started thinking about painting again, and well, here I am.
So I just recently started slapping paint on a few minis again, decided on 40k for starters this time around. Don't realy see myself ever getting a game where I live, so just interested in the painting part of the hobby for now.
That's my short intro, I'll see if I perhaps can get up some pictures of my first few Fire Warriors later.

Awesome. It's always interesting how people discover a few old things, and before they know it their interest in the hobby has been rekindled. I can't say that I'm an exception.
Welcome to the boards, I'm confident you will find something to help ease the progression back into the hobby. Hope to see you around, and I'm looking forward to seeing some Fire Warriors!
From whereabouts are you hailing?

Hi Sgt. Baker,
Painting and modeling is a whole hobby in itself! I have a friend, a real master class painter, who hangs with the players, but just does the art of painting. Games Workshop models are wonderful to paint aren't they? There is so much background and artwork of their troops you can really be inspired! Have you tried the Dawn of War or Soul Storm computer games? I haven't yet, I have to wait to get a newer computer, but I saw screen shots and movies, and that's a way to get good Space Marine gaming in too
Enjoy your painting, and please share pics when you are ready! Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey, and thanks for the warm welcome.
Yes, the background is surprisingly rich with information. Easy to get lost reading trough heaps of it, which takes quite abit of time from painting I found.
As for the computer games I'm fairly sure I haven't played them, have some vague memories of running around trenches with a pulse rifle ages ago though, but might be mixing it up with something else entirely.
And I'm from Larvik in Norway. Not the centre of the world in any means, and while I haven't turned all the rocks yet, it doesn't seem to be much of a community for wargamming or painting here. But that's Norway for you, to few people spread out in the forests and mountains, so niche stuff like minis tend to only have decent clubs and such in the largest cities.

You got to have me kidding, Sarge!
My grand aunt lives in Larvik. And, unrelated to that, I actually do believe there's a gaming club located there. At least there used to be. If the miniatures are sold there, you should put up a note or something.
But if that doesn't bring you any luck, I could always come visit the old aunt (who's actually a pretty cool lady that I've promised to visit soon) . I'm currently located in Oslo (studies), but normally lives in Grimstad, so either way you're located a couple of hours away. Send me a PM if you like.
I don't have much of an army to brag about yet, though (painted like two figures to test out the color scheme), but in time I will.
There is one store that has a decent selection of miniatures here and have given a though about that. But for now I'm just trying to get the painting part down decently.
Mostly in the same boat as you with only a few figures painted, but we'll see if it grows into a army at some point.
And I might take you up on that offer some day. Either way feel free to send me a PM if your ever heading down here and feel like meeting up.
Hey Sarge (and maybe also Northman)
I live in Denmark, but often goes to Larvik on business trips (servicing shops). Send a PM when you are up for a game.
Since Sgt. Baker is your name, maybe you can teach me how to play the game of warfare? (super super fan of Mr. Claypool here...)
Off-topic to Northman: my sister lives in Drammen, which i don't think is so far from Oslo, maybe we can squeeze in a couple of games some time...?
Must say I'm incredibly surprised that after just a intro post there's potential opponents popping up. Can't realy brag about being able to field a army any time soon, but awesome to see there's hope if I ever do get one together in the future.
"I remember as if it were a meal ago"
Said Tommy the Cat as he reeled back to clear whatever foreign matter may have nestled its way into his mighty throat.
Many a fat alley rat had met its demise while staring point blank down the cavernous barrel of this awesome prowling machine.
Truly a wonder of nature this urban predator.
Tommy the cat had many a story to tell,
But it was a rare occasion such as this that he did.
"She came slidin' down the alleyway like butter drippin' off a hot biscuit.
The aroma, the mean scent, was enough to arouse suspicion in even the oldest of Tigers that hung around the hot spot in those days.
The sight was beyond belief.
Many a head snapped for double - even triple - takes as this vivacious feline made her her way into the delta of the alleyway where the most virile of the young tabbys were known to hang out.
They hung in droves. Such a multitude of masculinity could only be found in one place...
And that was O'malley's Alley.
The air was thick with cat calls (no pun intended),
But not even a muscle in her neck did twitch as she sauntered up into the heart of the alley.
She knew what she wanted.
She was lookin' for that stud bull, the he cat.
And that was me.
Tommy the Cat is my name and I say unto thee...
"Say baby do you wanna lay down by me"
Sorry about the offtopic
