Hey guys, I am starting up table top gaming again. I played for a bit when I was younger but stopped because I didn't have anyone to play with. I am starting back up mainly because I want to paint the models, but I am going to try to get friends and family into it this time around. It is strange how people find nothing wrong with playing chess or boardgames but table top gaming brings up ideas of a bunch of nerds or hardcore gamers. I don't think this is the case and I am setting out to prove it to them haha. I would love to turn it into a family past time where the family comes together at christmas and having an epic battle is just something we do like opening presents. IMO these games have something for everyone: modeling, painting, strategic gaming, and face to face social interactions.
Do I have a chance?
Have any of you guys actually converted family over to the hobby?
Hai there And welcome to the forums
Actually I think you might have a chance... When I started playing WHFB for 4 years ago my parents complained about how much it cost, but I really didn't care. After a while, quite some time though, right now they can even join WH discussions (I know it sounds crazy, but... They are not always saying "wise" things )
I bet that, if no one else like it, YOU will surely do as you did before - and so you will get friends (maybe via this forum) who wants to battle against you
I Wish You Luck!
