I thought I'd introduve myself and all that, being new to the forum.
In my 'real' life I am an Art student at the Canberra School of Art, in the printing and drawing workshop.
I've been collecting, painting and modelling now for about 7 years on and off, and recently joined the local gaming club with a friend who is more interested in playing. I had never played a game before and had never collected 40K before either and have been enjoying both so far, especially as it gives me some idea of how my lovingly painted models would actually react or act in 'reality'.
Anyway, as fara s armies go I collect wood elves and vampire counts in fantasy (though haven't played a fantasy game yet) and Orks and Eldar in 40K. I am an Ork player at heart I think! I found I had accrued about 750 points worth of valid Eldar army over the years in boxes of bitz people had given me, so I bought the codex! I am finding them to be a real challenge, so different from my Ork boyz, but I shall perservere!
I shall stop rambling now, hope this finds you all well,
welcome to the site new member of orks! this calls for yet another of my celebrations!!!
There are three kinds of people in this world, those who can count and those who cannot.
We have a large Australian community here in LO! I'll lead you to the clan straight away:

I know there are at least 2 or 3 members from Canberra, did they lead you to this site?
I'd love to see some of your models in the painting forum.
Don't forget to have a quick look through the LO RULES.
Remember if you have any questions, you can always contact me or a member of the staff.
Have a nice day,

Hello John, and welcome to the board!
I really adore all you painters and modellers, and I'd love to see some pictures of your armies! I'm sure some people here could use your help with their painting (don't look at me, I am without hope!) and in return there's many experienced players here who gladly teach those willing to learn.
You'll get your Eldar army effective in no time, I'm certain, just by browsing the Eldar forum and posting your own lists and/or questions on your search for advice.
Wish you a good stay!
Thankyou for the warm welcome guys!
Hive Fleet Ruina, no, I'm afraid no one lead me here, I just came across it while trying to find conversion ideas for my falcon. I ended up finding some good advice on playing Eldar (which I sorely needed), so I signed up! Thanks for that link too
Red Archer, I'm not sure my painting is all that good to be honest! I think I'll learn more from everyone here than the other way round : )
All the best
