Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in

Hi all,I'm a long time GW fan, coming back to the hobby after many years of studiously denying myself.I first got into GW games when I was 7! I got the 1991 "blue book" catalog when visiting a hobby store with my father, who has always been a hobbiest, although his interest ends at WWII warplanes. It was only a few months of begging and pleading before I was gifted with my first box of "three piece marines" (The guys with the bolters and hands attached). From there on I was doomed to sink more money than I had any excuse to into the hobby.40k was my introduction, but the first big box i got was Fantasy (I think, the one with the high elves and night gobbos). I then went on to obsess over little gems like Mordheim, Necromunda, and built a pretty impressive collection of minis.I was generally more interested in the hobby than the game itself, although this was probably mainly due to my really just wanting to collect all those cool looking heroes.Anyway, 12 years later, after being diverted by girls and other distractions, I set the hobby aside. I could never bear to part with my collection, and once in a while I would dig them out and consider getting back into it... only to reconsider when crushed by the demands of college, then an internship, then a burgeoning career.Well, my brother (who always shared my love for the hobby) recently moved back to NYC very close to me, and it wasn't long before we were reminiscing about our days playing epic Mordheim campaigns, and out semi-friendly competitive painting. I realized pretty soon I had the bug again, and one visit to the local store in greenwich village, had my resigned to return. This time I would really like to turn my eye towards the strategy of the game, and collect with a more focused approach than I had in the past. Fantasy is more my taste of late, and perusing the updated versions of the units I once knew like the back of my hand, I decided Warriors of Chaos was where I wanted to start. So, I've bought the 8th ed book, got my army book, and my Battalion and sorcerer lord are in the mail. For better or worse, I'm back, and glad to be here...

The collage syndrome happens to us all. Collected in High school, and didn't really get back into the hobby until i was out of collage and married. Welcome back to the hobby.
