    Greetings Earthlings

Long-time wargamer here but brand spanking new to 40k. I've resisted 40k all these years (though I played Necromunda in the 90s) but recently wanted a science fiction minis game to play so it makes sense to play the one where I'll never have to worry about finding opponents. I have yet to play a game (besides a demo in a GW store years ago) but am 1 figure away from having 1,000 points of Grey Knights painted. There's a league starting at a LGS soon and that sounds like a good way to get a bunch of learning games in, I'm looking forward to it. Dumb n00b questions no doubt to follow in other threads.

It doesn't matter which special edition it is, it's still just Risk

    Welcome to the forum!

40k is both an expensive, but extremely rewarding hobby. Are you a player, painter or modeler primarily?

    Thanks.

I'm primarily a painter and player. I haven't done a lot of kit bashing or built minis where I've had to do a lot of modifications. I did recently build a venerable dreadnought with the Aegis twin-linked autocannons and it didn't turn out all that good. For my regular dreadnoughts I bought the TL AC arms from Forgeworld to save myself some work.
