Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm new here, and stumbled over the site via Google. My first impressions are good, although the forums do look very boring with the default vBulletin skin, (unless i'm mistaken and there's a skin selector! Oh, well i've just found one, but it still remains quite a dull skin!
Also, I think the site would be better with additional material, such as background fluff sections etc. But overall, a good job!
It's great to find a community full of gamers, and the addition of a live chat is great!
Well, I hope to see some of you guys soon on the forums.
Hi Thalin, and welcome aboard the good ship Librarium Online. Why not tell us what you play and what experiance you have ?
There are some rules and guidelines ... blah...blah... but you will read them up, and follow them I'm sure, cos they are mainly common courtesy.
Looking forwards to seeing you on the forums ...
Thanks for the speedy reply, and for making me at home on the live chat
Well, to tell you the truth, I have strange experience with Warhammer/40k.
I have been into the Games Workshop games for about 6 years now, and I absolutely love it, but i've only really been interested in the hobby aspect. I have spent years modelling, painting, converting, you name it, and I enjoy almost every minute of it.
Recently I have been interested in the fluff of Warhammer/40k, and have decided to take up reading and researching it, starting with the books. This is something that really interests me.
But the strange thing is, even after my years of experience, I have never played the game! Don't get my wrong, i'd love to, but I never really had the time, however recently I have been hoping to learn how to play, and will soon be venturing down the store for a game. Sadly though, one of the main reasons for this is because I have little friends who are interested in the game, and the one that is is always working bla bla bla ...
I also don't want to look like a complete newbie to Warhammer/40k if I go down on Sunday, because i've been into it for years!
So, what do you advise? Should I just get my friend to come, on the beginners day? (Sunday). Will I enjoy it? I'm very sure I will, but i'd hate to come after all these years and find I don't even like playing!
I'm very happy to see my local Games Workshop store has moved, meaning two advantages - only about a 40 minute walk to it, and also the size has greatly increased. I grew up (I like saying that) going to the store in the local shopping centre, and it is sure strange going elsewhere now. The old store did used to be quite small however, and it consisted of the gaming table, the painting area, the counter, etc all in the same small room! Now however, we have a gaming room, and although I havn't even been in there yet, I did briefly walk past it and see quite a lot of gaming tables, and it does look like you can have a quiet game to yourself on one of the many tables, rather than being interrupted and only having the one huge table in the old store!
One thing I also like about Games Workshop stores is the staff. They're always friendly, and really know what they're talking about, unlike some shop's staff...
Sure I used to find them annoying, with there constant dancing and singing when I handed them my money, and them boring me to death with their stories, but they seem to have changed, and you actually get to like them!
Anyway, listen to me blabbering on, i'll shut up now. By the way, I am from the Northamptonshire area in England, so if anyone else lives in the area, it'd be great to know!
