I found this forum on Google and have been a reading it ever since. I'm more of a painter and hobbyist than a wargamer, and I've not been inducted into the cult of GW yet, so I still feel free to play other games and even use minis and bits (gasp!) from other companies to add spice to my armies.
A couple of years ago I decided to start a Wood Elves Army with a wild, tribal feel to it and the new WE stuff complements beautifully with that vision. I sculpted a Treeman that looks more tolkienesque than the Treemen available at the time to go along with it. The theme was to be something like arboreal avengers, defenders who've taken an oath to bring justice to those who've violated the forest and its peoples.
I've also started an all-female Witch Hunters army for 40k. I currently have about 700 points of it completed. It'll be a CC, highly-mobile kind of force with lots of flamers. I'm thinking about adding eiher a Retributor Squad or an Exorcist for heavy support. I like the dark, gothic look of the army and the background of the Ordo Hereticus.
Cool beans dude. Welcome aboard. The only thing with this forum is, I suggest you have a bit of a sense of humor, oh-KAY! However, [in darth vader voice] I find your lack of faith in IG disturbing.
Three Companies of the 26th Vinancium
143rd Airborne Badgers (99.9% done)
159th Corsair Rifles (35% done))
69th Armored Wall Busters (95% done)
Total 197 men, 12 tanks, 4 Heavy Artillery Pieces
You have some cool sounding army ideas, I like both of them.
An all female Witch Hunters army is a really nice idea. By doing this do you mean that you wouldn't use any models that aren't specifically female, or that if they don't make a female model for something, that you'll just convert it? If that makes any sense at all...
Anyhow, when you get the time It would be great to see some pics of what you have finished.
Welcome to the forums.
