Hello, I'm new here at LO. I play Dark Eldar and Space Marines and have developed some good strategies, but am trying to start Imperial Guard. I am on a budget, so I can't afford Ogryns etc...But am looking at about 40 Men: 5 HQ, 5 Command, 20 for 2 Base Squads, and 10 for a special squad, maybe in a Chimera. Then I could add a Basilisk or Leman Russ or Whatever. I am wondering on what you think would be good, and I'm trying to keep it cheap, so Ratling Snipers are my prime choice for Elites. I am a more Shooty over Assaulting Player. Basically, I hammer players at long range and force them to charge and then get Counter Assaulted.

    Armies:

40k: Dark Eldar, Eldar, Imperial Guard, Space Marines
    Fantasy: Lizardmen, Skaven, Vampire Counts

Well at least you played a low armor army so you wont freak ou that your guys are dying. Rule of thumb minumum of two chimeras every squad should have special wepaona dn heavy weapon. When dealing with Lemun or Basilsk try your best to choose one there both good. Ratling snipers are good. I would take vets but I dotn think buying three meltas is in your budget unless you can convert meltas.

At least you spelt Chimera correctly,Orestes
    Leman Russ Battle Tank*
    Basilisk*

Guy Fawkes, the models you mentioned sound perfect. You might be new but you seem to understand what is good and what is not. As previoiusly mentioned make sure your infantry sqauds have heavy weapons/special weapons, then add tanks
