    No clue but interested

So I figured this would be the best place to start my posts... I'm a female in Virginia looking to pick up this game. I have no clue about how to play this game other than the few bits and pieces I have picked up around my boyfriend and his roommate. I have been painting his Eldar army for a while and just recently he made me sit down and play Battle for Macragge with him. Some how I actually enjoyed myself so now I'm here in hopes that someone with experiance can help me pick out and set up an army list. I would have orginially went through my boyfriend, but I don't want him to think that I am playing it just because he would like for me to. I have two requirements. One that the army I end up with will need easier rolling stats because I'm bad at anything to do with dice. The next being that I want an army that can be slightly feminized because I am female.

The first thing you have two do is to pick a race. From what you said it seems that sisters of battle would be a good army for you. They're as close as you can get to a feminized army really and they have some pretty good stats for rolling. You could also use space marines who have really good stats. A few people have unofficial female space marine armies, but this usual brings a lot of arguments from fluff masters.

Go for the sisters, they are great point wise, have great armor, and fit the bill gender-wise. If super preachy religious people arent your cup of tea, try out the eldar. They have many female models, and are pretty good all around.

If you were to be Sisters of Battle, then i would start with a core of 2 squads of battle sisters, backed by a cannoness. If you were to go the Eldar route, then i would get a Farseer, 2 squads of guardians, and then, for your personal tastes, a squad of howling banshees(all female CC specialists).

In the end though, i would pick an army that suites your tastes rather than picking it because its an easy army to be. You will get used to the army eventually and will actually enjoy it. Hope this helps! good luck!

No matter what army you end up taking...

A couple of recomendations I might make if your luck with dice is notoriously bad.(like mine)

    1. Take template weapons(provided you have a delivery vector such as transports/bikes/fleet of foot ect.) They get rid of at least one set of rolls.

    2. Take lots of troops/models.

Avoid an uber-elite list if you can afford to buy a lot of models money wise and you won't get angry when your dice rolls make your heavily points intensive units perform worse than they should on average. In addition, when your troops get killed, its no big deal because you have lots more of them.

The good thing about sisters is that they have a lot of flamers and template weapons.

Well now that I know what I'm going with. I just have to figure out how to use it so i can actually play. No, no elite heavy list for me. My boyfriend plays an eldar list that way and I think the only reason I like those is cause he lets me paint them however I want. I've got a pretty gothic sisters army brewing in my head though. This should be interesting.^_^
