I started collecting warhammer 40k about 2 years ago...I found Games Workshop in the mall and immediatly took to the atmosphere of tabletop games, I bought a paint set and set off to start painting.
The Gamesworkshop I went to is about an hour drive away from where I live so I didnt get there often, but the next time i did i got some gargoyles, which i found extremely difficult, and i believe at one point i had them together--whats left of them is in my bits box now. i gave up on tyranids and got some space marines stuff off of ebay, and from there, moved on into the lotr game. Then i packed away my paints and minis and started playing magic: the gathering card game for a while.
I got my paints back out and so far i have completed 2 models--one is a Typhus conversion, I gave him a tail from the chaos space marine sprue, and had some small wings which i cut off of an older raptor model's helmet, but they wouldnt stay, so they left some cool looking gouges in the armor...
The second one I have almost(I have to do the base and a few touch ups) completed is a blood angels Tycho-turned chaos, I gave him a jet-pack with gargoyle wings which i glued in place of the boosters. I am hoping to have the pictures uploaded soon, I need some constructive criticism as they are my first two signifigant finished products.
I dont have the rule book but i have the space marine and chaos space marine codexs, so i'm not quite sure if the figures i'm making are suitable for the game.
Welcome to LO.
GW is a rather attractive hobby at first glance, then you see how much the little plastic men cost...
They sound like some awesome conversions. Feel free to put them in the LO gallery, I'm sure a lot of people would love to see them.
So do you currently collect SMurfs (marines), 'nids, LotR or Chaos?
Check out my Codex: Farmyard Animals here!
If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
I guess i'm collecting Chaos Space Marines, right now I have about 10-15 guys to paint, and i dont think i'm going to be buying any more soon. I dont have the rule book-as I said-so I'm just content with the painting and modelling for now. I'll post the links here when i put the pictures in the gallery, I still have to take them.
I have a bunch of LOTR to get rid of--which I may post in the trading forum.
Thanks for the warm welcome.
