I just joined. I've been playing 40k since 1990. I play Space Marines, Witch Hunters, and just got back to Nids. I just got my wife to get in on it and gave her my Space Marine army. We only play with a few people, but wouldn't mind expanding the group.
always happy to meet new people where do you live?
oh i know how to play 40k got my pay (finally) and now after some time gonna get a space amrine army (1000 points) you have any good ideas on what to get?
We live in Oregon.
As far as Marines go, I would probably start out pretty basic and build from there. I am partial to Chaplains as a HQ but a Captain is fine. Command squads don't hurt but you can attach your independant character to a tactical squad. I like to have a dreadnought with either an assault cannnon or lascannon, it depends on what role you plan on it having. A few Tactical squads. I don't like to put heavy weapons in the Tac squads, but I do like the plasma gun. Same range and rapid fire, more punch. I go back and forth on Tac squad size. A land speeder squad or Assault Squad, I like the land speeders. A Predator is fun. And a devistator squad. I like to keep the heavy weapons grouped with similar ranges. Like all Heavy Bolters or 3 heavy bolters and a plasma cannon, or lascannons and missile launchers. Some people like transports but I am not as impressed most of the time. Driving a Devastator squad out to the middle of the map is fun sometimes though.
You said you know how to play, What army did you learn with?
eldar but there to complicated for me lol
