Man.. bad translations are a reality in places - especially like China.
In china, all media MUST have English subtitles on.. which is a pain in the backside for them as no one really cares about it. Hence.. many DVDs have subtitles which are done by machine on them.. so we get some really weird stuff.
It's great for a laugh really. Although, as a translator.. it makes my skin crawl. hahahaha.

Actually, one of the funniest subtitle gaffs I remember seeing was from a Harry potter movie. I think it may have been the first one, but I'm not sure...
Anyway, Harry... I think he's about to play his first game of Quiddich (Sorry if that's spealt incorrectly) and he asks one of the other characters about his first game. The guy replies with something along the lines of, "I don't remember my first game; I took a bludger to the face about five minutes in and woke up in hospital."
In the subtitles of the version we watched, they almost got that line correct. But not quite...
"...I took a badger to the face..."
We had to stop the DVD for a while until we had recovered. I couldn't help imagine some poor guy looking up to find a Badger hurtling towards him, about to wrap itself around his skull.
