Recently I've been looking at a certain website when the following article caught my eye...
Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls: 40K RUMORS: Dark Eldar Codex and Grey Knight Mumbles
I couldn't think of any other place to talk about this except in this forum. It's a hellishly blurred pic, with no indication of where it actually is taken in aside from the fact that there's a chalkboard handy, with some guy staring intently at a "Dark Eldar codex" cover with a rehashed image, and yet it's supposed to "confirm" that Dark Eldar are being released?
If I had access to my own laptop, I could easily make a more believable "secret GW pic" than that. Hell, with a bit of photoshopping, I could probably work Andy Hoare staring intently at not two but 5 monitor screens with various Dark Eldar rules conveniently blurred into illegibility for your viewing pleasure.
...really, is there anyone here that would think of that picture as even the least bit credible? (Not the one I just posted, but the one in the article. The one I just posted is of a GW employee working on an Inquisition codex, the screen on the left side showing how it will be extra grimdark.)
It really doesn't matter if the picture is real or not. The release date (if there is one) won't be changed and people won't stop spreading rumors about Dark Eldar release dates. A lot of people just want some hope, and will find any reason to get some. Dark Eldar rumors are kind of a religion in that way I guess.
Personally I don't care if the photo is legit or not, they'll come out when they come out if they come out on the same date whether or not I or any one else believe them.
Really, the thread was jumped on more by posters as a "OMG It's a Grey Knights cover!" The absolute certainty of some people that it was clearly a grey knights codex and that this should come as no surprise to anybody, for truly, it is providence, was pretty damn funny actually. But yeah, even while I think DE are next based on the rumors from Warseer, I sure as hell don't buy a blurry monitor image from Facebook, less than a week after April Fools.
