Yeah, I was born in '87, I grew up during the better part of the 90's. I can't remember some of those but most are still fairly vivid. I remember my old computer, wow have times changed. Oh I also remember when people used to call each other, rather than text message...

Born in 88, got to live through the best of the 90's but missed the best of the 80's by two years. (As my friends always love to point out for me...8))

I'm the same as Morkai though, except being just a bit younger, I remember a lot of that stuff but not all of it.

92', so I am familiar with 99.9% of all this stuff....

That was awesome! Oh, the memories. I was born in '90, so nearly all of that stuff I can relate to. The nostalgia is awesome. I always wondered when I could look back and go "I remember all that stuff..*sigh*" like all the oldies do. Thanks for that :)

I remember when the violence in the original Mortal Kombat created a huge stir for the video game industry.

Ninja Turtles had a live music show.

Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus and Kup let me know it's okay to say 'Damn' every once in a while.

California Dreams was just Saved by the Bell with a band.

Encyclopedia Brown > Harry Potter

Everyone supported conflict in Iraq.

All car windows had to be manually rolled down by a handle.

Knee patches on your jeans where you wore holes in them were 'fresh'.

Speaking of fresh, Will Smith was the Fresh Prince of Bell Air, and nothing else.

These are just a few...I should really get back to work.

Haha, I remember having to wait outside the black curtain while my brother and his friend played mortal combat (can't remember which one) at an arcade. Ah, whatever happened to arcades?

Ninja Turtles had a live music show.
I remember seeing a live Power rangers stage show! The white ranger's talking saber thing was on a bit of string, lol.

Speaking of fresh, Will Smith was the Fresh Prince of Bell Air, and nothing else.
That show was awesome (and still is when the re-runs come on) :)

How about these;

I remember having DOS on my computer

When hard-drives came in megabytes

When you bought computer games on floppy disks from swap-meets

When people actually still used floppy disks

Playing the original Nintendo, with games like Super Mario Bros, and Duck Hunt

...All the rest seem to be covered by the first thing, lol

i bought a sega megadrive back then, i recently found it again, KICKS ASS HEDGEHOG FUN all over again!

i can remember when me dad bought a faxmachine in the mid-90's... it had rolls of weird, shiny and very light paper. i loved make copies of everything i owned (much to the delight *ahem* of my father :realmad: )

yeah, this brought me back. i was born in '91. i didn't get a playstation until about 1998-1999. i was a deprived child.......... now i have a bitchin computer, and some of the coolest stuff ever! it's all good.

my friend's computer has a 20 GIG HARD DRIVE. .....

.....
...
..........

he can't play world of warcraft with me..... and it only took him 16 hours to hit level 8!

oh, and when did warcraft start to become known? lat '80s, right?

#14 ·
I'm an 84 kid, so remember pretty much all of that list. And, oh yes, the fresh prince of Bel Air - that was an awesome show.

Just one more thing to add really (made in 80 but aired for so much of the 90s:)):

Thunder-thunder-thunder-thunder-Cats!

*giggles like a small child*

Rich.

SNAARRF

'84 also, back when games consoles were 16bit and had games on the hard drive!

Born in '90.

I can relate to most of those, not really the music ones but you reminded me of warheads! ah the dares we had with those...

I had a cool Sega Saturn. I played SPACE JAM on it! great movie. Then I broke it, then it got stolen, then the insurance gave me a brand new PS2 for it :O . o_O

And tamagochi's... had them with me all the time until digimon killed em off.

And now I'm going to go dig up my massive pokemon card collection. Thanks a lot :p.

#20 · (Edited)
actually, most of this stuff was too early in the 90's for any of you who were born in the 90's to remembrer...
Then how is it that I remember them?

By my count, there is about 3 there that I can't relate to, out of roughly 66. And some of those may have depended on choice - such as the TV shows you watched - 'Saved by the bell' was a bit too early for me, I have no idea what FIVE is, and I didn't call everything the bomb (although I remember some people who did).

born in 82....you all are so young it's amazing.

I remember BMXs, and when rollerblades first came out.

the beginning of rap, grunge.

the end of the cold war.

Magic the Gathering cards.

black and green screen computers that had the 5" floppy disks that were actually floppy, and the best game around was Oregon Trail.

Kids that didn't talk back to their elders, or be rude to complete strangers....why? because they would get the crap beat out of them and nobody sued anyone because it's just kids fighting.

when being a "brat" was considered a bad thing...stupid kids cartoons these days.

When CG just started to look realistic in movies.

when out political system was more laid back and less of a polarized battlefield (in the US)

Magic the Gathering cards.

woot! :woot:

when out political system was more laid back and less of a polarized battlefield (in the US)
I'm not to sure about that, i've been reading a few books about american politics (the most recent being fear and loathing on the campaign trail '72) and to me it seems to have always been a beesnest.

Still, that's an outsiders opinion ;)

Yes, let's not play the 'I was born first so I am teh bestzor' game, shall we? It never ends up well.

Oh and Loafus this thread had been dead for about 2 months. Please don't necro-post.
