Ok, so quite a lot of people have had increasing problems recently with LOchat.
1) Some people suffer from automatically being disconnected from the room whenever a link is posted. They dont even have to click it.
2) Some people are unable to see the online user list. I think this is in non FireFox browsers.
3) Random room disconnection, some people just have trouble staying logged in, and get the red bar connection error message appear. If they log out then they can instantly reconnect, so its a chat problem and there is noting wrong with their connection.
Now... it may be a coincidence. But myself and a few others thing that these problems started shortly after the 40K Fluffmaster test was put up and advertised in the green bar at the top of chat...
Indeed i have noticed this. And you can no longer post links in chat.
I am not a firefox used and I can see the room members. However i do get the red bar of death a lot.
i can see the user list; but there's no special colors of any sort (took me the first week to figure out what everyone was talking about),
also , half the time when i join, the chatroom is set up in some horrendously designed layout, with the userlist at the bottom of the site, my type-in window really small, and i have to continuously scroll down if i want to keep up with the incoming texts. but usually rejoining fixes that (i've noticed it's almost always from linking directly to librarium-chat instead of going through librarium-online/chat.
When I installed Vassal, I lost access to the Userbar. I uninstalled it and about a week later (that felt like a month) I was able to use it again. I use Firefox at home, and IE at school.
Never been auto-DCed yet, but I recall TPM being unable to post a link on Chat, so he PMed me (in Chat- it worked there fr some reason).
I get the red bar on occassion but it rarely does anything. One time, I went about 10 minutes without my posts getting through, but that was about it.
Am I the only person who isn't having any problems with the chat?
I reckon it's because I'm 1337
either that or you are not using IE
I tried IE 7 and kept getting cut off and disconnected and no link posting
I switched to foxfire and all was as good as it was before. Colours present, layout right, posts and links appearing - and only the odd red warnings - which clear up in moments.
So I think the (for now) solution is to try and surf chat without IE7
I ahve not tested opera yet though
