Regarding Rep Power and Rep Info

    Greetings

I was wondering if the "Rep Info" is not working correctly. I found the "VITEA is becoming Decadent" message a bit naff and started looking into where it comes from and how it is arrived at so I could work out what I needed to do to get it to change.

I found the following table about Rep Info

    ...
0 -- User is an unknown quantity at this point (and cannot apply Rep to others)
10 -- User is becoming decadent
    ...
38 -- User has reached XXXVIII
    ...
    etc.

Oddly enough I have had 38 Rep Points for quite a while but the Rep Info hasn't changed. Have I got the wrong end of the stick or is something not quite working right.

    Regards

That's because your Rep Power is 38.

    This should aptly explain everything.

Your link to the info is one of the the same as I was using.

However if I may direct you to another of the listings on your site regarding Rep Info.

    http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...tion-info.html

My Rep Power is 38. I would have expected the hover over to display the Rep Info for my Rep Power of 38. i.e. "User has reached XXXVIII"

But it displays the Rep Info for a value of 10 i.e. "Vitae is becoming decadent"

I'm from your reply I guessing that Rep Power and Rep Info do not correlate.

If thats the case - what is the point of the two different Rep counts?

Why display only one - then have a hover over for the other along side it ?!?

Simply put, rep power is the amount of rep you give to others, while reputation points are the amount of rep that others have given to you.

The number of reputation points you have and your rep power are completely separate from one another. The star next to your rep power is an indication of the number of reputation points you have. As you get more reputation points, the number of stars increases. The message you see when you hover your mouse over the star is based on the number of reputation points you have. You can see the exact number of reputation points you have by looking in your User CP or by clicking on the Add Reputation button on any of your own posts.

The rep power, which in your case is 38, has nothing to do with the message you see when you hover your mouse over the star. Your rep power is calculated by taking into account the amount of time you have been on the forum, the number of posts you have and the number of reputation points you have. Whenever you add to somebody's reputation, this is the number of reputation points you give them, so, anybody you give rep to will gain 38 reputation points, and similarly anybody I give rep to will gain 45 reputation points.
    Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.

    Thanks for putting that together.

    Explains it all very well.
