I recently made a post regarding the new IG codex.
In the post i spoke about the new rough riders and what they are rumoured to be and if these rumours turned out to be true how beneifical they would be.
The thread was soon closed and i got issued a warning for breaking forum rules.
I posted nothing in my thread which had not been stated in other threads by myself and some experienced LO members and nothing which wasnt pure rumour as the codex has not been released.... how is it possible i broke the rules could someone please explain?
Many Thanks Mercian
Ye i posted a rumoured statline i got from another post, didnt post anythin not seen in another post. Would that not be the same of me coming out and saying..
Rumour has it Smurfs are going to have
Marine| 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 1+ Stat Line in there next one...?
If we look at the rumour posts there loads of posts stating the new toughness of units or new rules there getting.... i just havent done anythin not in another post which is what baffles me.
You got caught with you hand in the cookie jar, doesn't matter what other people have posted, I can't keep my eyes on every post made in the forum, feel free to report any others you feel are also breaking the rules. Posting stats is against the forum rules, end of story.
Also, why bother PM'ing me if you're going to just post a thread in feedback and support anyway? Don't worry it was only a warning, you're not gonna get chucked off the forum because of it. Just need to take it like a man
Copyrighted material is not allowed!
It is strictly forbidden to post, request, offer copies of, or suggest methods for illegally acquiring any copyrighted material without written permission from the original author and/or copyright owner. Violation of this rule will have the post deleted and your warning status increased. Further violations will mean a temporary or permanent ban from the Librarium Online forum at the discretion of the moderators.
This applies to any and all Games Workshop publications, including but not limited to: Codices, Rule Books, Army Books, and White Dwarf.
Specifically concerning Army Lists, posters may include the point costs for full units, but may not include individual costs or stat lines for models, equipment or upgrades.
In addition, the copyrighted material rule also applies to descriptions/depictions of casting methods or other means of creating fraudulent copies of Games Workshop sprues and models, as well as to plasticard templates, e.g. rhinos and drop pods. This rule applies to other, similar vendors; such as Forge World, Privateer Press, etc. Links to authentic Games Workshop FAQs or rules on the GW site or any of its subsidiaries (e.g. Specialist Games) are allowed as long as those links comply with GW's own rules
Well ive read the rules, and it states copywright material. A rumour is exactly that a rumour, how can it be copyrighted? Like i stated before if i decdied to tell everyone i think something should be X X X X X X X X X Stats im not breaking any copyright and im effectivly just throwing numbers about and not revealing anything about the current game or releasing anything which will allow people to replicate there game. Im not stating anything that "exsists" I could make anything up about gamesworkshop saying it was a rumour it does make it copyright instantly.
As for Stat Lines. Your rules actually say "specifically concerning Army Lists" which this was not. And again it says stats lines for models.... i cant stress again these are rumours, i fail to comprehend how i can be breaking your rules.
List of posts found in 2minutes which contain RUMOURED stats / rules of weapons, armour, or models etc. But like i say its rumours so in my opinion its fine but by the standards i got dubbed a warning they should all be joining me.
If we are now not allowed to post speculation on something which hasnt been released could i suggest an update to the forum rules so we dont get caught out time and time again?
Dont get me wrong if i have broken the rules im more than happy to "take it like a man" as you put it. But as far as i can see to what you have written down as your rules i havnt.
