Welcome to Librarium Online!
I find this annoying as I don't particularly like chatting but reading the posts, etc. Is there a way to disable the chat option that keeps popping up and reloading every page?
You could set your status to invisible then people will probably stop messaging you.

There is a "go Offline" button.
Does that achieve something to the effect that you want?
Dear Game Developer,Caps-Lock, its like cruise-control for AWESOMENESS!
Rock is cheese, Paper is just fine
WWP and other Dark Eldar how to
I'm trying to get rid of the bar altogether. I've made myself invisible, but that seems to have no effect. Going offline still keeps the bar up and slows down my computer at work.
There's no way to disable the bar, and you're the first account of computer performance slowing down based on the chat that I've read so far. What in particular slows down?
I'd like to add it slows my performance as well. I have to wait a good 5 seconds each page for it to load, this is ridiculous, if I wanted a facebook style chat, then I'd go to facebook, not a warhammer forum.
wow... a good 5 seconds! did you ever use dial up? with dial-up some pages take over a minute to load... consider yourself lucky.
Get off your high horse. I've used dial up, it is however irrelevant to this. There is no reason to not have a way to disable the chat "feature" for people who do not want to have to wait while browser loads it, it's unnecessary, and annoying.
There may not actually be a way to disable the chat bar, and I'm sure if there is the admins are looking for a way to do it. There are far more people who like the addition than who dislike it, so if there's no way to disable it, then it's likely it will stick around. If you're using high speed internet, I'm curious as to what browser you're using? As I said, there are very few people that have posted saying it actually slows down their computer, and it has had no effect whatsoever on my own, so are there any other reasons that could contribute to it slowing down?
Unnecessary, maybe, but so's a lot of things in life.... annoying? That's an individual opinion, and 95% of the people who've posted about it don't agree.
