There's a Chinese torture that uses just a tiny drop of water.
Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and ...
I now find that the "Notice" I get every time I log-in has become irritating.
The profound insight vouchsafed by this "service" is that I have not yet posted today.
But before I can consider the deeper ramifications of this revelation, I receive Standing Orders:
"Don't worry". Then, before I can think "Worry about what?", I am comforted - there's a Cute Little Smiley!
I don't want to ride this emotional roller-coaster every time I connect.
I can't imagine that I'm the only member who feels this way.
Make it stop. Kill it. Put it in the CP. Something.
The obvious answer for this problem is simple; post every day!
but seriously I do agree, I feel that the notice almost encourages useless comments like
"RoflZ rine r Rulz xenos is lulz"
"Thank him who puts me loath to this revenge on you who wrong me not for him who wrongd"
I find it annoying too. It usually triggers the train of thought - "This is the first time I've logged in today, of course I haven't <expunged> posted anything...and why would I be afraid?"
If you don't post everyday, I come to your house and steal one slice of bread. This is why you should be afraid. I'm making the world's biggest sandwich.
