My signature, which was "No, I don't like the new forum" has been blanked. Why?
Probably because of the content. Correction. Definitely because of the content.
It's generally not a good idea to question the decisions the forum staff make on forum layout so openly and harshly. Such things are best kept to yourself.
Well, I didn't know that it had been removed, but it does seem like a rather pointless thing to say.
Esspecially since all the bugs and what not haven't been ironed out yet.
Maybe once the bugs and what not have been ironed out I'd have changed my signature. Maybe the bugs and what not aren't what I don't like about it.Originally Posted by Toastee

What I didn't expect was to have my opinions censored without any word of discussion. Whoever chose to delete my signature clearly didn't give a toss about my opinions. I wasn't PMed to ask for feedback. I wasn't even PMed to be told it had been done or why.
Well, I can't help wth that, since I dont know who did it.
And still, even if it wasn't the bugs, and the fact it was a new forum, your you dont like vBulletin, it still seems like a pointless thing to say.
Look at it from the mods and admins point of view. You have all of us, you put their time and effort, and in a fair few cases, their own money in this forum. Its not going to be nice for someone to see "No, I dont like the new forum" in someones sig.
TBH, if you dont like it, fair dos. But a sig like that does seem a little counter productive to the work that does go into the forum. Either way I think this forums staying. Which is a good thing considering the extra options we do get.
One suggestion though, I think with vBulletin, like the last forum, you can have multiple skins. So maybe you could ask for one, your design one yourself if you know anything about it.....thats of course, if its the layout you dont like. =o.o=
Either way, sorry that your sig was taken down without a PM *nods*
Fair enough. I agree that running this forum is a labour of love for the admins and mods and I do appreciate the work that's involved (having had experience of maintaining a web resource in the past and that was a lot smaller than this). At the end of the day, if the bells and whistles that come with vBulletin are considered valuable by you guys then you have every right to put them to use regardless of whether some individuals consider them baubles, googaws and distractions. I also appreciate that my views are in the minority.
I'm resistant to change and was irritated (I admit it) that the clean and simple interface we had was lost for the sake of thread ratings, reputation points, and WYSIWYG editors. I was doubly irritated that my small protest was brushed aside without a word (I've previously had concerns about heavy-handed moderation and this did nothing to assuage those concerns).
Either way, it's the content and the community that keeps me here. After all, if the interface was everything, I'd have thrown out my DVD player long ago
Thanks for taking the time to respond,
I do like the Rep points, from a mod view, since not only post count now adds to getting the enhanced member thingy, so in theory, it should stop spamming more.
But aye, the content and community are the more important of things =^__^=
Catch you around the boards dude!
