Welcome to Librarium Online!
I noticed that you've banned Ebay links in the Trades forum (and indeed dont seem to have a 'for sale' forum) instead directing people should post to 'Minature Trader', this is just an observation, but why would anyone want to list there, limiting themselves to a very small audience when they could go to well ebay, with a huge audience (though granted you pay a percentage for this).
It's a noble endevour to have a dedicated Minature Auction site, but honestly when there are better alternatives is'nt it a waste of time?
Nobody is saying "Don't use ebay", after all, as you say, there is a mass audience there. However I do not believe that Librarium Online should be used as a platform for gathering an even bigger audience. And let's face it, ebay is likely to gather enough interest in any given item without having to use LO to increase the interest an item might receive.
The trade forum is exactly that... a 'Trade' forum. Not a portal to ebay, not a way to sell items to other members.
If a member wishes to sell items to other members of LO, then Miniature Trader should be used. If not, then as you rightly suggest, they should use ebay or any other popular auction site.
I actually favour the trade method. It allows members to obtain items they want and perhaps discard items they don't care to keep. Also, there is no need for cash to change hands, making it easier for those with little disposable income to participate.
There is nothing wrong with selling, but why should LO be used to help line the already bulging pockets of the ebay fat-cats?
You see, the principle of Miniature Trader is for members of this site to be able to sell to each other if they prefer that option to trading, but without the need to compete with the mass audiences of sites like ebay, thus keeping it a community thing.
It would be ideal if members could sell and trade in the same forum, but this opportunity was abused with persistent links to ebay. Members were not selling to other members, they were simply gathering bids for their items elsewhere.
Sorry to ramble on, but I'm strongly against linking to ebay (although I'm not at all against ebay, I use it all the time for all manner of purchases).

I guess simply setting up an auction-style trades forum would be enough. In case you have actually looked on miniaturetrader.com anywhere recently, nobody seems to be using it at all.
Ebay links can now be added by inserting your ebay ID in your personal profile. Thanks
