I'd like some feedback on new ideas for usergroups. All "sensible" suggestions are welcome. So far I've thought of Painters(for people who only really paint the models), Army Listers(for people who make more lists than they use ), Fluff Masters(for people who only really like the fluff).
I have some more but won't post them yet.
Thanks in advance.
How about the RPGer's group?
A billion chinese can't be wrong - eat rice.
That's a good idea. Anyone got any more?
And whats the point of these usergroups?
Most usergroup s we currently have actually serve a behind the scenes coding purpose, while the ones you are suggesting sedem to be "just for the hell of it" groups
i would like one for specilist games such as mordheim.
that would rock.
why though? what purpose would it serve?
I mean, wow, so you have a "Mordheim" badge? big whoop. Also, now that the forums display all group logos and badges we would end up with huge lists
I mean, can you imagine somone with;
Army List Group
Space Marine Group
Fantasy Battle Group
Wood Elf Group
I mean, you would end up with extreamly long posts just showiong the persons usergroup.
IMHO usergroups should be kept to groups that actually serve a purpose rather than just groups for the OMG factor.
"Ouch" but true.
maybe you should increase the amount of badges, but allow a limit of 1 badge...
Sorry to be a noob but what's a Usergroup actually for and how do you join them, and if they are for coding to you mean Computer Programming like C++? I am currently learning C++ and I would like to have some use for knowing how to program with it.
BTW: Knape97, although posts would be ridiculously long with that many usergroup things next to your name, it would look pretty awesome
If your done first, you're the winner.
Basically a Forum User group is an organisational unit. BlackHat or Knape etc may wish to send a message to all the Authors (for example). Instead of searching through the forum to fnid everyone who has posted a fiction piece, they can just send to the Austors usergroup.
You can join up to usergroups here. It is the Group Memberships page of your User Control Panel.
Some of the groups are restricted on particular criteria, and have a manager to prevent spurious joining. If so, this is indicated on the groups page.
While nothing stops you from joining a group which you shouldn't (EG the LO Dawn of War Clan when you do not play DoW), you ... well just shouldn't.
Knape: While I agree that a listing of every group would be impressively (and uselessly) lengthy, why not place a limit of 3 (to grab a number out of the air) display groups? I don't believe that more groups are required however.
Greetings from Planet X, I hope you enjoy your day.
