I thought I should post this here as opposed to the submission related forums, as I suppose it is a matter for mods and admins. As some of you may know, I have recently completed a rules manual for a new game system based on 18th century naval warfare, though it still needs reviewing and proofreading. I would like to somehow publish it on LO. I would submit it as an article, but it is quite large. almost 13,000 words actually. Is there anywhere that I could host it on LO? The PDF itself is only 150 kb odd. I just don't know wether it is suited to article form, and I'm unsure of the catagory it falls under.
On the other hand, if you feel it is pointless and no one will be interested, I won't mind if you don't want it on LO.
It would just be nice for my game to be backed by the good people that make up LO .
We would love to have that hosted on LO
Just send me an email with a brief introduction on what its all about then I make an article where you can download the pdf to read it all
Blackhat's new blog network for terrain crafters!
Sounds pretty sweet.
How many nations vessels/crews did you include?
I guess I should just wait until you put it up.

New 40K missions here.
I Have to say, having read the rules, this is a well thought out and thorouthly researched game. I would recommend it for play to anyone. Will, I would add some rules for the use of fierepots, effects of fire and storms additionally. Excellent basic rules. I give it two thumbs way up.(Y) (Y)
Darn yes, I forgot about rig damage in storms. I will also add bomb vessels and tweak the Unrated point values and damage points, their too weak at the mo. I take it you got the email then Cirque ! Oh, fire effects are covered in the critical hits section.
To give a basic run down: The game involves players fielding a fleet of ships from Britain, France or Spain or (US, Baltic and Dutch will be an expansion !) Pirates may also be fielded as a valid fleet, but they will be historically accurate to pirate fleets (Bartholemew Roberts' fleet for example was very small) You can take command of a huge range of ships, using the universal fleet lis. As all nations used basically similar ships. The biggest is a 120 gun first rate ship (365 points of pwnage!) to the smallest 2 gun cutter (10 points !)
The game plays in a similar manner and format to GW games, as I used the BFG system as a loose foundation. The rules are easy to learn, and some such as movement are quite unique.

Blackhat - it is only a "beta" version at the moment, and I would really appreciate some people to help me with updates and possibly simple illustration. Perhaps you could suggest some willing hands? I will email you and send you the PDF to read over.
I will print this out today and begin reading. First impression: awsome work.
Havn't got the chance to read them yet, gotta print them out first of all.
Well done, those rules seem pretty much finished to me. They read very well and are understandable, although that could be because I play Eldar in BFG :shifty:
The way the movement has been tied into the strength of the wind is very nice, and very simple as well.
Overall, a job well done
